Five years have passed since 9/11 and I feel as if I haven't accomplished much at all. Five years ago today I was in a senior in high school. I was going about my normal routine when someone told me that something horrible had happen. I gathered my composure, stepped into class and had the teacher explain this great tragedy. I think it might be an understatement to say that things were different then. Sure we had the occasional attach on America, the Oklahoma City Bombing, the uni-bomber, but never anything like this. The word "terrorism" has become a major issue. But I have seen little change. I have also seen little change in my life. Five years have gone by and I feel like I have little to show for it. What have I been doing? How did I allow time to escape me like this? I must seize the day. I need to redirect my focus and attention on a positive outcome. I need to rethink my strategy and take note of my past experiences. Have I really become this afraid of hard work? Where has my will

and self-motivation gone?

To say that I haven't accomplished much might not be entirely true. I am a senior in college and plan on finishing in the near future. I have considerable grown as a photographer by completing two fine art photo books that I am very proud of. I am still hard at work as a web-photographer and creating a solid work portfolio. My golf game has improved but could still use some work. And I have a smokin hot girlfriend who I care very much about.

Hard work will pay off, that will be my motto for the next five years. I will work hard cut out the distraction, focus my attention and create my own destine. It is no longer acceptable to be a slacker. I will become self-sufficient and a hard worker. I am 22 years old...it is never to late to start trying. I am tired...I will go to bed earlier. I am not prepared...I will study, practice or do whatever it takes to be ready to become the person I am waiting to be.

School Is Now In Secession

So my first day of school is going great! The school part is about the same but it gets better. I got to my first class 15 minutes late. And I have one of those teachers who makes a point about staying until the last minute. So I guess I will be getting my moneys worth out of that class. My second class was the complete opposite. The professor said just give me 7 minutes of your time and we will be out of here. He said we will only be using about 30 minutes of class each day. So that's a relief. After i finished up with that class I went to the library to see if they could help me get my wireless Internet connection to work. But my trip soon took a detour. It started off with a library treasure hunt which took me to a free lunch. And it wasn't the ordinary gross free college lunch that you might have heard about, it was Quiznos served with a side of cheetos, cookies and an ice cold lemonade to wash it down. As I was searching for some of the items on my treasure hunt list I kept seeing people with snow cones. And I kept thinking to myself where are these people getting these snow cones! I finally found the snow cone stand and said "one cherry please". Just as i thought my day couldn't get any better it did. I saw a poster that said ludacris is coming to UTA. I bought two tickets on my newly wireless Internet connected laptop. On a side note I also had an intense work out today at the the UTA activity center. I am going to have to start bringing stuff for me to take a shower with because sheww. Over all, I am pleased with the way things went today.

Putting Practice

It's no secret that under pressure one of the most nerve-racking golf experiences is the 4-to-6-foot putt. Two of the most common reasons for missing these short putts are: 1) the putter face is not square to your putting line at impact, and 2) a decelerating forward putting stroke.

This easy-to-set-up training station will help you increase your percentage of made putts from this distance. It will also create a more reliable stroke and increase your confidence when you encounter these putts under pressure.

What you need for this putting drill:

Two golf clubs, two tees, three or four golf balls.

How to set up the training aids (see Picture A):

1) Place the two golf clubs parallel to each other approximately 1 inch wider than the width of your putter head (the clubs should aim directly down your intended putting line).
2) The grip-ends of the two clubs should point to the hole.
3) Stick one tee into the green just outside of the outermost golf club at a point where the club shaft is exposed at the grip. This tee represents where the ball should be placed for every putt.
4) Place the second tee approximately 8 inches behind the first tee. This tee represents the length of the backswing.

How to use this training aid:

1) Swing the putter back and try to keep from hitting either of the club shafts. This will keep your putter face square through impact. By maintaining a square putter face and a straighter club path, you ensure that the ball will travel along your intended putting line (See Picture B).
2) Bring the putter head back no further than the second tee and accelerate through the ball so the putter head finishes at or beyond the butt-ends of the golf clubs (see Pictures B and C). Accelerating through the ball will result in a more fluid stroke and truer roll.
3) Practice this drill for 10-15 minute increments then try making these short-range putts without the training aids. I promise you will see your percentage of putts made in this distance range go up considerably.

Ten years to the day he turned pro, Tiger Woods took the lead, gave it up, fought back to tie and then defeated Stewart Cink on the fourth playoff hole to win the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational and extend his summer victory streak to four. Cink had chances to win on each of the first three playoff holes before a Woods birdie ended things.

Golf is a great game. It is difficult and rewarding. It's a game that involves thinking, patience, and determination. This is a game that may never be mastered. Although, some may argue Tiger Woods has reached a level unattainable for most players. His presence in tournaments scares his fellow competitors. He has won every major that he was leading in the third round, he has won 12 total. The trend lately is to try and Tiger proof a golf course, but he still wins. He is an amazing golfer and athlete. Watching him play is watching golf history.
