Long Time

Wow I can't believe it has been a year ago since I wrote on this thing. Just had some time to surf the internet tonight so I decided to return to my xanga. Well since last time a lot has changed. The Lord has blessed me in so many ways. I have a new job, my first year teaching elementary music, and I am now happily married in the Lord. The Lord brought this man into my life about a two years ago. I wasn't looking for anyone but I really prayed about it and saw that in him there was all that I had wanted in a husband. He treats me everyday with kindness, respect, and loves me like Christ loves the church. Never has he ever doubted the love he has for me. I love that he loves me so much. The Lord has really blessed our marriage so far and we continue to draw closer to God together day by day.  Praise be to God from whom all blessings flow.

I am having some problems with graduating. Praying that it all works out. I am not going to worry but by God's grace I pray that I can graduate. There is one class that somehow myself and my advisor looked over and didn't realize I needed still. Thought it was complete, but I found out otherwise. I wrote an appeal to the graduation committee to waivor this one class because it is just a fine arts 111 class and can u believe it my major is an area of fine arts. I don't think I need any intro courses to it. Anyways....so I am student teaching at Edwardsville High and it is boring still right now. I am just observing but today I spent all day looking for jobs online. It is nice to have that time to do something like that. They are audition each hour for the bands so not a lot is going on. Tomorrow I am going to do my spanish hmwk. I am excited for this weekend. There is international night going on and I think I am going to help decorate and participate in performing something. Looking forward to that. Ok, well Go Cards!!! They are doing good so far. God bless. Buenas noches. A dormir!!

So these last few days I have had a mini vacation from student teaching since they didn't know where to put me next, but I am going to Edwardsville High School tomorrow so that should be fun. I am excited about high school only because I will get to conduct and that is so awesome. I love it.

But I do thank God for these days to rest and work on my resume and get some other stuff done. I got to go swimming this week. I use to go all the time last semester and I am going to start it again. I missed going to the water arobics class. It is so good to swim. Well today I helped out at the study abroad fair and told people about my trip to study in Mexico. It was fun to talk with students and show pictures and to see everyone that went with me from SIUE. It was like a little reunion. I went and played in band today. It was fun but I don't miss having to go to those two hour rehearsals although it would keep me playing more.

Well tonight I went to observe my friend Dustin teach English. I even got to help him with a new guy who just came in. The program is free for all the people in the Fairmont city area who want to learn English. Most of the people that come speak spanish, actually all of them. So it was really awesome to help out. I worked with one guy named Francisco on pronunciation, the alphabet, and simple greetings. I don't think he even knew how to write very good in spanish either. He didn't go to high school either and I found out that he works like 70 hours a week. Can you believe that? I bet they are so tired. Another guy said he worked like 80 hours. I hope to return to help out more with teaching them English. What a great opportunity and it is awesome the Dustin and the other lady, who is the head of the program, are offering english classes for free to help these people. I love serving like this. I pray God would give me wisdom in helping them too.

This was my last week at my school for student teaching. Now I get to go on to a different school. I am sad to leave. It is funny how I grew so fond of those kids and just as I got to learn their names I had to leave. I went into it thinking I wasn't going to like teaching the 5th grade, but it actually turned out to be so much fun and God truely blessed me with a great teacher to work under. She was a great christian woman who encouraged me, gave me insight, advice, and she tried to provide me with many opportunities to observe other teachers and places where there are lots of spanish speaking children. I am going to miss going to CIS every day and seeing my fifth graders each Thursday. I am going to have to visit soon. And all my students made me cards saying Goodbye and thanks. It was so sweet of all of them. That is the joys of teaching. I didn't realize how rewarding teaching is, but already I can see it is amazing to share what you know with others and I just loved helping out Mrs. Peggy, the ESL teacher, with the spanish kids. They were great too. I just am thankful for God blessing me with a great first placement for student teaching. I pray this next one is going to be good too. I am suppose to go to high school, so we'll see. Wish me luck. :)
Had another spanish test this week and i didn't study as much. Didn't have much time because we are also required to do hmwk online besides reading and written work. I don't mind because it is a lot of practice but sometimes I can't study as much as I would like since I do lots of other things each night. Anyways....Hope I get a good grade. It was harder this time learning to use direct and indirect object pronouns. Something like that.
Went home last weekend and it was good to see the family. But we had a little incident with my brother. He just is in that stage of not obeying our parents at all and it pains me to see him act the way he does and hang with not so good people.I think they have had an influence on him too. I know my parents just want him to make the right decisions and they are trying to teach him responsibility but he just doesn't want to listen. It is hard to help someone who doesn't want to help himself. He seems to be full of anger a lot. Please pray for him.
So I am excited, I think tomorrow after I play for a wedding I am going to a Cardinals playoff game. Never been to a playoff game before. That will be fun!!! Ok, asi es. Chao. God Bless.

Had  a good weekend!! I went home on Saturday my friend cooked African food  for the family. It was  good. Well the rest of the day we just relaxed and talked with  mom and dad. I love going home because it is so peaceful there. It was a little chilly but good weather for sitting on the porch with  a blanket. Next  time I go I will have four days to visit so I am excited. Me , mom, and sis are going to go shopping, get our hair cut, and do some cooking so that should be lots of  fun.
Today I got some practice teaching 2nd graders and they were fun. Then I just observed and lesson planned the rest of the day. I love going to the elementary school. Well tomorrow it is back to my school and I am going to help the ESL teacher again. I am excited  for that. So that is what is happen now. Praying this will be a good week and that I can serve the Lord in all I do.
