I matched!!!

Months of agony is finally over. I started this internship application process back in September: writing 20+ essays, calculating hours, doing interview preparations....in December, I was notified of all interviews, which occurred over the month of December and January, and eventually ended on February 1st. Since then, I have been waiting to hear about my results. As much as people tell me that I will do fine, NO ONE understood what I had to go through unless you were in my shoes. This "matching process" is RIDICULOUS! I hated the anxiety, the rationale about finding out whether you get matched on 2/22 but not knowing where I get matched till 2/25 (which is today), or that I will be the one whom remains unmatched (about each year 700 out of 3500). It was such a painful process! The worst part about the match is not about how qualified you are, but it's just a bunch of numbers submitted by you and the programs and ultimately being determined by the computers. With people getting unmatched year after year, I was just living in anxiety and pain for those 2 and 1/2 weeks. All the hard work paid off! I was matched to my first choice today! I will be starting in Gouverneur Healthcare Services in Manhattan, NY starting this September. This will be a new chapter of my life! NYC --- I am coming home!

The waiting game begins...

I am DONE!! Sent all applications out yesterday! I am now patiently waiting to hear from my internship sites...hopefully everything works out! This internship process has been an extremely painful one...writing 20+ essays...counting every single hour of clinical experience -- breaking it down to the type of service and the ethnicity and gender of each client...holy cow....i am SO GLAD it's over...i really am so glad it's over....

I am back to CT, back to work, and back to school. Last two weeks were not easy. Our family decided to go to HK because grandpa is not doing so well...Thank God he is doing better. I hope he will get out of the hospital soon. My sister, my brother and I will go back to HK to visit grandpa again this summer. Can't wait to see all my family again =)

** My cousin Jan yelled at me for not updating my xanga =(...this post is dedicated to him!
