| | I matched!!!Months of agony is finally over. I started this internship application process back in September: writing 20+ essays, calculating hours, doing interview preparations....in December, I was notified of all interviews, which occurred over the month of December and January, and eventually ended on February 1st. Since then, I have been waiting to hear about my results. As much as people tell me that I will do fine, NO ONE understood what I had to go through unless you were in my shoes. This "matching process" is RIDICULOUS! I hated the anxiety, the rationale about finding out whether you get matched on 2/22 but not knowing where I get matched till 2/25 (which is today), or that I will be the one whom remains unmatched (about each year 700 out of 3500). It was such a painful process! The worst part about the match is not about how qualified you are, but it's just a bunch of numbers submitted by you and the programs and ultimately being determined by the computers. With people getting unmatched year after year, I was just living in anxiety and pain for those 2 and 1/2 weeks. All the hard work paid off! I was matched to my first choice today! I will be starting in Gouverneur Healthcare Services in Manhattan, NY starting this September. This will be a new chapter of my life! NYC --- I am coming home!
