for those of you leaders who are kinda like me and read emails and then forget about them:

Less than a week til retreat! Hope you guys have some idea in mind of who's on your team and what songs you'll be playing. If you do this last minute, it'll probably create quite a lot of problems for Angelo since he's typing them up on the computer and putting them together.

Angelo needs your lyrics by WEDNESDAY at the LATEST. Him and I have already filled out an equipment form for all the mics and mic chords and guitars and lovely things like that. Please don't make us both worry by procrastinating and waiting until the DAY that you're actually playing to pick songs.

Again, I don't know if there'll be a copier at May retreat, so if you haven't even picked out your songs yet... find them online (pretty easy to do, check www.pwarchive.com or google it) and either print out as many copies as you need on your own printer (i know you're asian but get over it ;D) orrr if you can come by church sometime this week and copy it then.

PLEASE don't procrastinate or else we'll come to retreat and not have a worship team or worship set and that wouldn't be too pretty.

I'm gonna ask around for the new schedule so you can know the exact times that you're doing it, but again,

Tina and Shannon have the Saturday night set

Lydia and Carolyn have Sunday morning set

Matt and Kim have the Sunday night set (i need to talk to you two about this)

and the fourth will hopefully be a mix of us all. (I'll try to come up with a list)

MAKE SURE you all have teams together and make sure they're goin to retreat. As for your practice times, either during a bit of freetime if your worship set is after that, or tell your members to eat their meals fast and speed over so you can have a solid 45 min or hour to practice.

I know the bulk of you (or maybe all of you, for that matter) are new to playing for worship for May Retreat. Heck, so am I. So make up for that by being more prepared please. Keep in mind that this year's theme is Healing and Being Whole Again, so try to include a song or two reflecting that.

And PLEASE make sure that you all bring the guitars that you need, and that you remember the music!!

Hope you all have an awesome week full of SLEEPING in (the majority of you, anyways.) Perhaps use some of that extra time to work on your set? Please? =)

Okay. So in case you're ADD and didn't read any of that, here's a summary in nice big bold letters:

-HAVE YOUR TEAM READY AND NOTIFIED.

-HAVE YOUR WORSHIP SET PREPARED AHEAD OF TIME, AND EMAIL THE LYRICS TO ANGELO NO LATER THAN, AND PREFERABLY BEFORE, WEDNESDAY. (his email is angelo94@yahoo.com)

-THINK OF A PRACTICE TIME TO FIT IN BEFORE YOUR SET. (most worship sets are after a meal, so eat fast and hurry along to practice!)

-MAKE SURE YOU HAVE ENOUGH GUITARS AND NOTIFY PEOPLE TO BRING THEM IF YOU DON'T HAVE ONE.

-COPY YOUR MUSIC AHEAD OF TIME OR PRINT OUT YOUR COPIES ON YOUR OWN PRINTER IN CASE THERE ISN'T A PRINTER AT MESSIAH COLLEGE.

Please, please, pleaseee do not procrastinate on this. Think about your set this week, contact your co-leader like tomorrow or the day after at the latest, and figure this all out. Yeah, it's kinda frustrating sometimes to actually have responsibility now during our retreats (I remember just last year, most of us didn't even know how to play guitar, let alone lead worship =P and we didn't have to do much, just sit down and soak it in. well this year is different and a lot of you guys are steppin up, growing up, maturing, and it's pretty awesome to see =D) so yeah you have more on your minds and you have more to do, but please don't hold off on this and wait til it's too late and you gotta rush through everything (we probably won't have the worship binders with us at retreat, either, so if you don't prepare this weekkkk good luck haha)

here's a verse that's been helping me when I feel like I'm overwhelmed with a little more responsibility than I'm used to, and I start doing things because I HAVE to do them and not because I WANT to:

1 Chronicles 28:9
"And you, my son Solomon, acknowledge the God of your father, and serve him with wholehearted devotion and with a willing mind, for the LORD searches every heart and understands every motive behind the thoughts. If you seek him, he will be found by you."

Just keep that in mind while you're planning this week. And whenever you feel like you suddenly have so much responsibility on your shoulders that you're not used to. I'll be praying for you leaders.

Just posting up the latest info from email for the worship practice this weekend, which is Mother's Day. So please remember to get up early, clean the house, and cook breakfast for your moms who have sacrificed so much to raise you into the young men and women you are today. Moms are something...they put up with you for 9 months kicking around, then go through 12 hours (estimate?) of labor (it's called LABOR for a reason) to get you out, and they still love us. =P And don't forget to thank God especially for giving us mothers to nurture us. Anyway, I know you're all pretty busy this week, so hang in there! Wish you the best on AP's, IB's, finals, whatevers...before you know it we'll all be summer lovin. =) Take care this week.

hey everyone!

sorry, but there's going to be one last, final change-- last, i promise =) okay, so there's the finals for the GMC Tourny at CBC so... they will be done around 7:30-- at which time we're gonna start our practice ASAP, as soon as everyone's ready. I would like to say practice is from 7:30-9:30, but prepare to maybe finish at 10pm if the tourny goes overtime? Is this okay with everyone? Let me know if it's not and if rides are needed. Okay, so everyone please get here at 7:30-- if the game isn't done then we'll just watch and support the others until they are =) Practice will be in the sanctuary. I'll get you guys the song list this saturday when we practice, but it'll be 4-5 songs. To give you guys the whole picture, here's what hapenning:

Hey people =) it's Tina.

Well, with GMC tourny on Saturday it seems that worship practice might be pushed back acouple hours. Since we don't know the beginning and ending time of the tournament, its a bit hard to get a team fully together, but here is our team so far:

Brandon
Joanna

This is the "maybe" team. But I don't know for sure if they're all coming so I was hoping if you guys know anyone who would be willing to sing or play guitar on saturday night sayy... between 7-10 (times might change) than please contact me or Shannon. THANK YOU!

I sent out a new rotation list for the May-June worship rotations, but there's a couple mistakes and time conflicts so I'll post the new list and email it when we get all the things worked out. sorry for the delays ><

A site for CBCM's worship and av teams.

Worship leaders, please subscribe and start using this as a way to notify your team members and let everyone know what's going on for your worship sets. =) I might talk to you for ideas on what to include and how this is gonna work in general.

kim--if you could put the schedules for team rotations on here. I'll try to find it and put it on here as well, but I'm not sure if you planned past Easter or not.

yeah still under major construction as I will be checking with the other leaders to see what kinda information we should put on here.

Hopefully this will make communication a lot easier and there'll be another means of notifying people besides email since not everyone checks email.

ask me on aim for the password.

the idea was suggested by jeremy, so thanks to him. =] brian also suggested that worship leaders, or anyone in general, could post their testimonies or how God's been speaking to them lately as a small devotion for their team and whoever reads it.

won't really work if nobody does it. i know lydia and i will try to use this, and hopefully the other two teams will try, too.
