I just got back from grocery shopping and I must say I am proud of myself. Week after week I'm learning to find the sales at the commissary and what brands are cheaper here in Hawaii. I have really knocked off a lot off our grocery bill each week. We shop once a week, use ONLY cash for everything so once the money is gone, that's it. No treats, no extras and no buying in bulk (until we buy our stand-up freezer). I love our budget and I love the freedom it gives me. That's right, I said freedom. Having NO debt (no car debt and certainly no credit card debt) has really made Adam and I feel secure about our finances. We've worked really hard the last 3 years to obey the Lord in what He teaches (in the Bible) about spending our money. Obeying Him ALWAYS pays off.....I LOVE MY LIFE!!!! Sometimes saying "no" to ourselves is the best way to grow closer to Him. I've had to give up alot of the things I really like/love since moving here, but it's been SOOOO worth it. Living here is like living in a dream. It's just simply amazing and I wouldn't want to be back in VA for anything (except to love on my friends that I miss so dearly)

Anne-Marie, I'm so sorry I haven't written you lately. My email is all messed up so Facebook/MySpace are all I have. I really, really miss you and I'm aching to see pic's of the baby!!! I'm sure he's just gorgeous and that Isabelle (sp) is having a blast with him! LOVE YOU SO MUCH

I ran 3 miles on the new treadmill last night and I LOVE IT! I can't wait to run more during nap time today. I just need to figure out why the belt is so slippery. Is it because it's new? Emily and Denise, were yours like that in the beginning? Just curious. It's wonderful and soft to run on, but walking is a little strange due to the new belt. I hope it gets better with use....maybe my shoes are just too slippery on it. Running is fine, but when I walk, I really have to slow down and hold on tight....guess I shouldn't walk...ha ha ha.....
gotta go
time to start our day (6:00 AM) ha ha

Our new treadmill is here and all set up!! Calories: get ready to be toast. I cannot wait to run some miles, burn some fat, get fit again and feel much better about myself. Now, I can either run early in the morning, during nap time or after the boys head to bed! WOO HOO!!!! And on top of it all, I am LOVING homeschooling the boys. Today is a wonderful day.

Let me say this:
The verse in the Bible that talks about "more than you can handle" has NOTHING to do with trials, or horrible things happening in our lives. It has to do with sin. The verse says, "God won't allow you to be tempted beyond what you can handle without giving you a way to escape it." In other words, when you find yourself being tempted by a sin that is really a struggle for you, God will give you a way to say "no." He'll provide a means to resist that sin. He does not anywhere in His Holy Word promise to keep bad things from happening to you beyond what you think you can handle. I just felt I needed to clear that up. So, when someone is going through something awful, don't use that verse to give them false hope. Be honest....something like, "I don't know why God allowed this to happen but He does promise to work ALL things together for good for THOSE THAT LOVE HIM!" We should also remind them to look for ways that this bad thing can bring people to a relationship with Jesus and bring glory to our Heavenly Father. We have to trust that God hasn't hopped off His throne and that He is in control of everything. The Bible talks about God allowing bad things to happen to good people so that we can be refined...made into Christ's image even more day by day. Our goal in life as Believers is to become more like Jesus everyday 'til we meet Him face to face. And He allows bad things to happen to "bad" people so that they can realize their need for Him and put their trust in Him as their Savior. That's just my soap box for today.

So my treadmill comes TONIGHT! I am so excited. Adam is home from work already ( I LOVE SHORE DUTY ) (it's only lunch time here) so I'm going to take a nice, long walk while the boys nap. I need some time out of the house (I don't have a car 'til the van arrives) and in some fresh air. I take the boys to the playground every morning around 9, but it's always nice to listen to my praise music, spend some time with the Father and get some nice exercise. Taking walks is my favorite. No rush, no expectations and huge rewards....gotta go
arts/crafts time with the boys after lunch
I LOVE SCHEDULES. We even bought the boys a little dry erase clock to help with activities so they'll start to know what to expect.
love yall!

hope to post pic's soon. Adam just needs to make them smaller
