| Let's just get on with it. No, I didn't make District Band, but that's ok, because I still have to audition for All State Jazz, Madrigal Choir, Temple, and UARTS. So now I have more time to polish my shit.
But for now, MY TOP 5 favorite movies of all time.
#5 Hero Directed by Yimou Zhang

From the creator of Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon and Iron Monkey, comes my favorite foreign film of all time. Ying Xion (or HERO) is a beautiful work of art. The colors are amazing. The fighting is stylish, without getting too cheezy (ie Crouching Tiger). The characters are very realistic. This film will make you think about your morals and question your belief in whats right and whats wrong. Oh yeah, and Jet Li + Donnie Yen = "Wow. I think I just crapped my pants." The soundtrack is beautiful as well.

| A huge thank you to everyone who came to the Seel City show. Downright and myself appreciate the support, and glad you came to enjoy the sweet sounds.
#6. The Royal Tenenbaums Directed by Wes Anderson

Coming in at number 6 is Wes Anderson's The Royal Tenenbaums. This is a very funny movie, to say the least. The cast is star studded: Gene Hackman, Owen Wilson, Danny Glover, Gwenyth Paltrow, Ben Stiller and Luke Wilson. An emotional movie that warms you from inside out.

Sam's Club. I hate the whole concept of it. That's all I have to say about that.
#7. The Shining Directed by Stanley Kubrick

Here's one for ya. You can anyone what the top 5 scariest movies are and The Shining will most likely be on the list. I'm not a fan of slasher films, or, horror films that try to pass severed body parts, gallons of blood, maniacal ax murderers, and chainsaw massacres as scary. That ain't scary, that shit's gross. The Shining plays with your head. It's scary alright, but overall it's mainly just freaking sweet. Jack Nicholson + Stanley Kubrick + Steven King = AWESOME.
Here's some trivia. Because of Kubrick's creative filming techniques, Danny Lloyd, the actor who played the little boy (Danny Torrence) in the film, had no idea that he was acting in a horror film until he saw the premier. I guess a little boy running around with a knife saying "REDRUM, REDRUM" could pass for a comedy.... | | |
| Hola! and Welcome.
Moving right along.
#8. Kill Bill Directed by Quentin Tarantino

I didn't fully appreciate this film until I watched Vol. 1 and Vol. 2 back to back. Tarantino intended on making Kill Bill as one movie, but it was just too damn long. It is apparent that these should be treated as one film rather than Kill Bill 1 and then a sequal. This film was one of my main inspirations for "Beowulf". Action packed: Yes. Violent: Yes. Emotional: somewhat. Deep: not at all. In fact, I can't imagine myself really enjoying this movie, but I do. And Uma Thurman is beautiful.

Number nine, number nine, number nine......
#9. Waking Life Directed by Richard Linklater
This is film is different. Originally filmed in live action, it was animated on top. The movie askes the question "are we sleep walking in our waking state or wake walking in our dream state?". This is a must-see. If you're into deep movies that question reality, check this shit out yo!!
