6/29/2005:
It's been a while since i've posted on xanga. So now i'm writing this on paper on United Airlines flight 801. Chris Tzen, current KC president and Alda's successor is on this plane to Tokyo. So is Stephen because he changed his plane ticket. He's sleeping in his seat in row 23 right now. I'm in row 20 next to my sister. Anyways, I'll be back on August 11. And i feel like writing xanga entries on the plane:
Preprom: Picked up and tried on tuxes Friday - went with Christian to get his tux and my bowtie. Stayed at Bba's house a little.
June 11, 2005: Prom night - Went to Christian's house. Christian's dad drove me, Philip, and Christian to Howa's house of mirrors. Then, David came and everyone was there - all the guys. Jackie, Howa, Chin, Albert, Stephen, Philip, Christian, David and me. THen, Julia calls and says that a lot of the girls weren't at her house yet =O Meanwhile, the guys were sitting around watching Howa's TV. Eventually, the guys started to change so Howa could see guys in tuxedos play mahjong. Albert and Stephen wetted and put a lot of gel in David's hair, but no one knew what to do with the hair. David's hair looked better anyway. Thank you Jackie for helping me put on cufflinks Howa and Christian were really knowledgeable and helped us put on cologne. We took individual pictures of everyone dressed up and also of the whole group. After everyone was ready with their ties on right and everyone was lint rolled as much as possible we were pretty much ready. My bowtie had a tendency to become crooked though. We took all the corsages, flowers and boot in ears Iboutineers) out of the fridge and placed them on the kitchen table.
The limo came with the girls. We went to pick up Ruby and Liane. Boutineers sure are hard to pin on. The limo fit 24 of us and the AC wasn't very effective, but at least the lights were pretty. Oooo...they changed colors! We went to this boardwalk with a beautiful view of Manhattan when it suddenly started raining and we had to run back into the limo. At least it stopped raining when we got ot the Waldorf Astoria, so we got to take a few pictures. My wonderful prom date was beautiful as usual in her light blue dress. The Waldorf Astoria was a grand and fancy place. We sat down at our tables which took a lot of hard work to arrange beforehand. Dinner was served by the hot waiters I had heard about. It wasn't the biggest meal but it tasted good. It consisted of pasta, chicken with mashed potatoes and asparagus. Omg, I really like asparagus! It just naturally tastes good. I don't see why I don't eat it at home. Anyways, everyone looked great and spiffy. Not button down shirt spiffy, but tuxedo and prom dress spiffy. Then, prom ended at 1 am and I am really glad that I have friends who consented to dance with me. After more picture taking and good byes, we exited the Waldorf Astoria to find our limo. We went to Randy's place. He graciously let us in his house. We had to sneak around so as not to wake up his parents and grandmother. The girls changed in the basement while Christian watched the door lol. He wouldn't exactly be the first person I'd nominate for that job, but if I were a girl, I'd trust him not to peek. We were going to go bowling but there wasn't time, so we just hung out at Randy's comfortable house. Thank you Randy. I think people played pool and talked in the basement. I just went to sleep on Randy's living room floor, which is what I do everyday anyways. At 4 am, we got all our stuff and went back to the limo to go to the beach. Manhattan beach was closed so we went to Coney Island beach instead. The sunrise was obscured by clouds, but the sand and waves were still there. Waves have this nice calming effect. sigh. We got our fee sandy, so the limo went to start drop off while the Queens people and Albert went ot Chin's house to clean our feet and sandals. No breakfast places were open, so we just ate all of Chin's food. Albert, Christian, and Stephen cooked all the eggs Chin had and Chin prepared fishsticks and stuff for us. Then, we proceeded to fall asleep on Chin's sofa. While I was asleep, Randy, Philip, and Christina left us to go home. Then, me, Chin, Albert, Stephen, Christian, and Amy played Truth or Truth. It was suppoed to be Truth or Dare, but we were too lazy to think of any good dares, so we just dared people to tell the truth. For once, I felt a little normal, at least my twisted idea of normalcy anyways. Christian started us on KMF'ing and it was all a lot of fun as we stayed in Chin's house relaxing until the afternoon. Chin even bought lunch for us and wouldn't let us pay, though I think we were able to give him some of it. Then, we went home on the subway where I slept like I did on the train during junior year. And thus ends prom and afterprom. =) |
