 Funny! Funny! Funny!

Okay, so I gotta tell you flat out. I’m a HUGE fan of Joss Whedon (Buffy the Vampire Slay and Firefly/Serenity).  After the musical BTVS, he wanted to do another musical episode of something.

And he has.

Dr. Horrible’s Sing-A-Long Blog

HIL-AR-I-OUS!!

I never knew Neil Patrick Harris is SOOOOOO funny. He is awesome.

drhorrible

As is true with most of Joss Whedon’s stuff, Dr. Horrible is a social commentary. But delivered in the funniest, most tongue-in-cheek manner.

Also starring Nathan Fillion and Felicia Day.

Day two of writing like a maniac

I can’t believe how well this is going. I am writing like my fingers are on fire and I will forget the whole story if I don’t get it down.

Makes my brain hurt.

Movies, movies, movies

I am soooooooo stoked about Friday. The spousal unit, Gitarezan, is taking Friday off, we are grabbing my mum, and we’re going to see The Dark Knight.

Yah baby!

I all ready have our tickets (thank you Fandango!!)

I loved, loved, loved Christian Bale as Batman in Batman Begins. He was wonderful. For the first time in a long time, Batman has had some depth of character. Val Kilmer was miscast, George Clooney was cartoon-y. But Michael Keaton was quite good.

Christian Bale – a Welshman – is much better!

tdkinternationalposter

Some people have said that they can see the Joker waving in the building directly in front of Batman. Perhaps. I dunno.

Speaking of the Joker, I am REALLY looking forward to seeing Heath Ledger’s performance. From what I’ve seen in the previews he is GOING TO ROCK THE HOUSE!! And is that man channeling Jack Nicholson OR WHAT??!! (I know JN isn’t dead, but it’s kinda freaky.)

THEN, the following week is The X-Files movie. I am a huge fan of The X-Files. I didn’t start watching it until season 2 or 3, but then I was hooked (I’ve been that way with most of my favourite shows).

xfofpos

It would be awesome if they put a nice finale on the series. But I’ve heard that this movie isn’t the end. I don’t know how long they can stretch this series until it starts looking pathetic.

Monday’s Ramblings

DANG!!! It’s been a month…

Holy crap! I can’t believe it’s been a month all ready. Things have been hauling here. And things are shifting and changing.

Working again in the Fall

I was roped in by my former boss to teach a few classes next year. So, yup, I am again teaching grantwriting classes start in late September.

It’s cool because the money will be nice. But I’m not so stoked about working again because…

I’m writing like a maniac…

I just finished the first 4 chapters of my MG book. There’s an epilogue, too, so it’s more like 5 chapters.  It’s not polished, but heck it’s on paper. And it feels good.

I figured out most of it on Saturday when my spouse was off frolicking with dad. I had a huge headache, but sat outside and pushed through the story arc.

And it’s good. This is good news because…

I am pitching my story at the local writer’s conference in two weeks

Yup. Two weeks. I’m not overly worried about how much/little I have written because I wrote an entire Masters thesis in one day. It was a hellish day, but it was done.

That’s how I seem to write. I mull it around FOREVER in my head and then I barf it out on paper.

So, I just started the “barfing” phase of my work. Giggle.

I am going to pitch my story to two literary agents at my local conference. Both are MG and YA agents, so this ought to get me started.

Have a good one – whatever you do.

Another goodie done…

I worked on another project while watching brain-fart TV yesterday.

I learned how to do circles.  Kinda easy. Makes a fun lollypop shape.  The pattern is from Lily brand yarns.  They call it “beach ball.”

I used Lily’s Sugar n Cream yarn. The colour is Playtime.

Crafty Crafty Crafty…

I’m not quite sure what I’ve been doing these past few weeks, but blogging apparently wasn’t one of those activities.  Sorry ‘bout that.

But I have been crafty.

Spa Cloth

I found this pattern in the current Creative Knitting Magazine. They call it a “spa cloth” – I made this one for my mum. She’s tried it all ready, so apparently, it is a lovely facial cloth. It’s made out of Sugar’n Cream 100% cotton yarn. This colour is Cool Breeze Ombre. It’s a wonderful colour combination.

This is the entire cloth.

spa_cloth

This is the pattern in detail. It’s a combination of yo’s and ssk’s.

That’s all I’ve got for now. I hope things are good in your neck of the woods.

Have fun, whatever you do.
