| But don't feel bad for me. I started out alone
and in the end, that's where I'll be.

Sometimes you feel everything and nothing all at
once. Sometimes you'll find yourself smiling while missing someone at the same
time. At times, you can absolutely love a person, all the while wanting to hate
them so badly. Life comes without guarantees, except that smiling will brighten
your face, laughing will enhance your eyes and falling in love will change your
life.
What they call love is a risk, cause you will
always get hit out of nowhere by some wave and end up on your own.

“No one who had never been depressed like me
could imagine that the pain could get so bad that death became a star to hitch
up to, a fantasy of peace someday which seemed better than any life with all
this noise in my head.”
No one falls in love by choice, it’s by
chance. No one stays in love by chance,
it’s by work. No one falls out of love
by work, it’s by choice.

But this wasn’t true either.
I did hate it sometimes, for the lie that it was.
It was the ultimate out, admitting he’d only disappoint me.
And didn’t that just make him so noble, really?
As if he was beating me to the punch, his words living forever while I was left
speechless, no rebuttal, no words left to say.
So much for forever. I guarantee we’ll be those friends who talk
once a month – then that’ll end. It’s
not what I wanted. Sometimes things were
as good as gold, but quite often shit got very old.

Do
you want me to tell you something really subversive? Love is everything it's
cracked up to be. That's why people are so cynical about it. It really is worth
fighting for, being brave for, risking everything for. And the trouble is, if
you don't risk everything, you risk even more.
| The sentence below is true.
The statement above is false.

I've been making a list of the things they don't
teach you at school. They don't teach you how to love somebody. They don't
teach you how to be famous. They don't teach you how to be rich or how to be
poor. They don't teach you how to walk away from someone you don't love any longer.
They don't teach you how to know what's going on in someone else's mind. They
don't teach you what to say to someone who's dying. They don't teach you
anything worth knowing.

Somebody came and took my hand and I finally had
to go but, I just wanted you to know that, I waited as long as I could.
| Settle baby, you are not the sun.

You don’t love him; you don’t know how to love
people. You know how to own them. And because people will never act just like
you want them to, you’ll always feel betrayed.
And because everybody dies, you’ll always feel cheated. But you’re the cheat. You’re the one who uses our love for you to
try to control us.
Shawn: You know, he used to
tell me how wonderful you were, but guys
always say great things about their girlfriends until they break up. That's when the truth comes out. You know, I've waited 15 years to find out what he really thinks about you. Do you wanna
know what he thinks about you now that you're broken up? Topanga: No. Shawn I don't wanna talk about him. Shawn: Now that you've broken up, he still tells me how
wonderful you are.
-Boy Meets World

And after awhile, you learn that you don’t need
anyone else in order to survive.
No one else is ever going to always be there, no matter what they say or what
they promise you.
You just gotta suck it up, accept it and keep on keepin’ on.
How come we’re never happy? It was, I decided, a legitimate
question. How come humans, with all
their ways to make life easier, were never content? It was as if perfect happiness did not
exist. Even now, as the warmth
suffocated me and the cold froze me, I was proving it to myself. Just when I wanted something the most, I
received it, only to realize that I had never really wanted it in the first
place.

I didn’t plan this and if I did, I wouldn’t be
having this conversation now.
Because I can’t take it, but I’ll be fair, and I won’t fake this.
I can’t outbreak something that’s broken now.
That’s the only reason people get angry.
Because they’re hurt.
People only get angry to cover up the hurt.

I've found almost everything ever written about
love to be true. Shakespeare said, "Journeys end in lovers meeting."
What an extraordinary thought. Personally, I have not experienced anything
remotely close to that but I am more than willing to believe Shakespeare had. I
suppose I think about love more than anyone really should. I am constantly
amazed by its sheer power to alter and define our lives. It was Shakespeare who
also said, "love is blind." Now that is something I know to be true.
For some quite inexplicably, love fades; for others love is simply lost. But
then of course, love can also be found, even if just for the night. And then,
there's another kind of love: the cruelest kind. The one that almost kills its
victims. It's called unrequited love. Of that, I am an expert.
| How does it feel to know that you’ve taken someone’s
smile?

I'm trying to wake you up.
There's a big fucking world out there. It's messy and it's chaotic and it's
never, never, ever the thing you'd expect. It's okay to be scared but you
cannot allow your fears to turn you into an asshole, not when it comes to the
people who really love you, the people that need you.
I’m sorry for all the times I forgot to imply
something in between the lines. And I’m
sorry if my heart breaking ruined your day.

Relationships don’t work
the way they do on television and in the movies. Will they?
Won’t they? Then they finally do
and they’re happy forever. Give me a
break. Nine out of ten of them end
because they weren’t right for each other to begin with. And then half the ones that get married get
divorced anyway, and I’m telling you right now, through all this stuff I have
not become a cynic, I haven’t. Yes, I do
happen to believe that love is mainly about pushing chocolate covered candies
and, you know, in some cultures a chicken.
You can call me a sucker, I don’t care.
Cause I do believe in it. Bottom
line, those couples that are truly right for each other wade through the same
crap as everybody else. But the big
difference is they don’t let it take them down.
One of those two people will stand up and fight for that relationship
every time if it’s right, and they’re really lucky one of them will say
something.
