Check out the new place: www.xanga.com/coachizspitfire

I'll be retiring this one in the next 2-3 months/once I've documented my two years' worth of entries *grin* They should be interesting reads in my own retirement

Until we meet again, fare thee well, my friend!

Someone told me long ago, There's a calm before the storm,
I know; It's been comin' for some time.
When it's over, so they say, It'll rain a sunny day,
I know; Shinin' down like water.

CHORUS:
I want to know, Have you ever seen the rain?
I want to know, Have you ever seen the rain
Comin' down on a sunny day?

Yesterday, and days before, Sun is cold and rain is hard,
I know; Been that way for all my time.
'Til forever, on it goes Through the circle, fast and slow,
I know; It can't stop, I wonder.

CHORUS
Yeah!
CHORUS

(They were actually referring to Carolyn Bessette Kennedy.)

Remember that processing error I told you about? Well, turns out by the time my application was reviewed, all vacancies at the school were filled for the fall semester and I am now on the waiting list at what was my number one school.

I now feel like I am being called here: www.geneva.edu and to what was originally my number three...

I'll keep you posted

Coordination for RI is going smimmingly! I still have a few things to finalize and more students to recruit, but it looks like it'll be a good last hurrah with the largest student body since 2002! I couldn't have done it without the help of some amazing assistant coordinators. (You know who you are! It's been a privilege working with you guys thus far and I'm looking forward to this final stretch with you all!).

The first track meet of the season went really well. We won with a final score in the 130's while the other teams left with 30's. Pretty rockin' sweet. I competed in the long jump and 100 and 200 m dash. It was a smash! I can't wait to do it again and I couldn't ask for a better team or coach! They're awesome!

Speech tournament starts next Thursday. Have been writing my speech on justice. And, as you can imagine, it's rather difficult to talk about justice without talking about it's opposite. I've been researching criminals such as James "Whitey" Bulger, "Tookie" Williams and Osama Bin Laden and looked at photographs of aborted children from 9-22 weeks into development. It's a sobering thing... and to think that I've been spared from the cruelty of the people whose crimes I've so clearly seen before me in case pictures... yet, at the same time I am guilty of committing the same exact crimes in my heart. I can't even think of a word to describe the thought. Crime is a reality so close, yet at the same time so far from the world I know and have grown up in. And yet, sin is an all too familiar thing to me. It's unsettling how non-unsettled I was while looking at some of the pictures! It's appalling, without a doubt, but I didn't find it surprising. It's one thing to look at pictures and another to live through the events captured in them...

Enough with my procrastinating.

Back to google for me.

"Coming to you live from Grove City, PA..."

The trip's gone well so far. Saturday we made it to Baltimore in 6 1/2 hours after lead-footing in New Haven and no traffic on the Beltway.

Our visit with Bamp was good and the weather was insanely gorgeous (though on Sunday it snowed there!). Bampie and I took a drive Sunday afternoon and took flowers to Annie's grave. It was so beautiful and peaceful out. Just me and my grandfather--it was the most lovely time I've had in a long while... We even saw a bagpiper practicing on the way home :0)

We left for Liberty University early Monday morning, arrived there around two and walked all over campus until night fall. I was most impressed with Associate Professor Matello in the School of Government. Turned out he and my family have a lot in common  The campus was pretty and it wasn't too big... It was a friendly atmosphere and I got the impression that the professors really are there for the students and that they treat their job as a ministry. It was good to see, especially considering all my apprehensions about the school. The sports facilities and extra perks available to the student body were jaw-dropping at times. Have you ever heard of your own personal trainer at college? I hadn't. And while it is more commercialized than fits my taste and I may not agree with all of Liberty's means of attraction, I see that's it's all part of Dr. Falwell's plan to grow the school and to set the world aflame with the knowledge of Jesus Christ.

I gotta run, but more later maybe!

G' afternoon, folks. Two weeks and many happenings later...

Tomorrow mom, Kathleen and I are leaving for Baltimore and the first leg of our college tour. In a week's time, God willing, I'll have visited Liberty, Geneva, and Grove City and visited with my grandpa and dear friends from down yonder (ain't that right? *smile*).

Turns out there was a processing error with my application to College of the Ozarks. My records just went to the review committee. Hopefully I'll be hearing back from them soon and before I lose early deposits at the other schools! Right now I'm leaning towards Geneva if I don't get into C of O.

Like the new music? Haha--I love it!

Peace out.
