    Erin at the County Fair

Isn't this such a cute picture of Erin? She loves horses. The horses name is Root Beer.

Have any of you been watching HGTV's "Design Star"? I was rooting for Sparkle Josh and he got eliminated last night. I am so bummed! How about Vh1's "Rock of Love" with Bret Michaels? Ooooh come on...you know you watch it! And what about "Scott Baio is 45 and Single"? I used to adore Scott Baio when I was young. I had posters of him hung on my wall in my room. But oye....he sure isn't anything I would ever go for. What a mess he is! He definately needs to do some maturing and dump his buddy Johnny V. Yeah...I am hooked on these trashy shows. I admit it!

The kids are back to school and I am trying to get used to getting up early and going to bed earlier. But so far the going to bed earlier hasn't happened. My system is all outta whack! Erin has a really good teacher this year. And Jimmy's teacher seems to be very cool as well. I volunteered to help out Erin's 4th grade class this year. I got a note today asking if I could come in on Thursday for an hour and help out with Math. I sure hope this 4th grade math is something I understand. Math is not my best subject.

We are having Jimmy's 13th birthday party on Saturday. We rented out the high school swimming pool. And reserved a few covered picnic tables that are right next to the swimming pool. Jimmy invited 13 friends. And we invited family as well. I figure we'll bbq hot dogs. And have chips, soda and whatever else I can think of. I'm going to order a chocolate/chocolate cake from Costco per Jimmy's request. Costco's cakes are the perfect size for a big crowd. It's suppose to be like 102 on Sat. So a pool party works out perfectly!

    Blessings!

Leann Rimes was awesome!!! She sounds just like her cds in person. What a voice this girl has! I just LOVE her!!!! The outdoor concert stage area was jam packed with ppl. We got there approximately 2 hours before the concert started and still couldn't get a seat. People were saving seats (which they aren't suppose to do). And I am not the type of person to be rude. So we found a spot on the right side of the stage and stood there before it filled it. It was definately worth my aching feet and body. *lol* Before the concert started I spotted her husband come out with other tech guys. I told Amasa, that's Leann's husband. He was like, no it isn't. I said yes it is! I have seen him on MTV Cribs. Turns out he saw them mouthing words back and forth to each other during the concert. I was right!

I did indulge last night at the fair. I had a yummy corn dog, a small piece of beef terriyaki, a bbq chicken sandwich after the concert, and a chocolate covered frozen banana with nuts. Mmmm.  Thankfully the scale didn't reflect a gain this morning. Woo Hoo!!! Ooops...I forgot we also bought some kettle korn on the way out. And I had some when we got home. Soooooo YUM!!! The kids have been with their dad for the week. They come home tonight. So we plan on taking them to the fair one day this week. Blake Sheldon is suppose to be there this week. I wouldn't mind seeing him.

I hope you're all enjoying the hot summer weekend! Well....it's HOT here in California.

    Blessings!

    Slumber party survival

I survived my daughter's birthday slumber party! It was exhausting but the kids had a blast! And it was all about Erin! There were about 11 kids here. Seven girls and four boys. They started showing up at noon. We had hot dogs, potato salad and chip and dip for lunch. They went swimming, played karaoke, DDR, gamecube, made bead/charm bracelets & necklaces, and did make-overs (the girls). Erin got a new ps2 karaoke game (American Idol) with a microphone from her aunt, uncle and cousins. So now she has 2 mics. The kids just loved having sing offs and competing against one another. For dinner we did pizza. The cake I ordered from Safeway was a cupcake cake. It was really cool. It was 35 cupcakes made to look like a cake. The buttercream frosting was sooooo yummy! We also did an ice cream sundae bar. The kids got to make their own. We had cookies & cream and neopolitan ice cream. I had all kinds of candies and munchies out in bowls for the kids to snack on. Can you say sugar rush? The boys ended up going home around 8pm. And that is when the girls found their second wind. When movie time came, Amasa and I made the girls homemade buttered, salted, cinnamon, sugar popcorn. It was a hit! Around midnite I was getting tired, but the girls were still going strong. My neice had brought the tarot card deck I had bought her for her birthday and wanted me to show her how to use them. So I did readings for her and my other neice. (both 13) I did a reading with a couple of my decks and then one with hers to show her some differences in decks. They were both stunned at how the cards tell the truth. *hehe* Finally by 2am I was really in bad shape and needed to go to bed. I told them all to lay down in their sleeping bags and settle down for sleep. I took a vicodin and went to bed. Unfortunately, the girls were all still spun on sugar and were not ready for sleep. (mostly the younger ones) Amasa got up about 4 times before they finally got quiet around 4am. I woke up around 9am and feed them breakfast of pastries & milk. Most of them were picked up by 10:30am. Only one I had to track down the parent at about 1pm. After that I crashed and burned in my bed and took a much needed nap. I don't see another slumber party happening anytime soon.

I am doing much better recovery wise. The party took alot out of me and I probably over did it, but I really wanted Erin to have a great party. Well I am off to bed. My parents are coming by in the morning to bring over a tv they are not using. We got our Direct TV installed today. I went ahead and had 4 receivers put in. One in the living room, family room, my sons room and our room. We just need a tv for our room. *lol* Now I can be lazy when I want to.
