Hawaii...or not

Hawaii cruise got cancelled cause Norweigian Cruise Lines is most likely going to cancel all their Hawaii ships for May and June. I was told by the NCL rep that it would be recommended to make other arrangements. So now I'm planning on going on a Caribbean cruise with Royal Caribbean. It'll be $1000 cheaper, but I've already been to 3 of the 5 ports. I haven't booked it yet, but I called my agent already and she's looking to see what other cruises there are in May for the Caribbean. I think Libery of the Seas (maiden voyage May 19 2007) gets my vote, but I am definitely keeping my options open in case a better ship shows up....I somehow doubt any other ship will beat this one. Liberty of the Seas is not only an extremely new ship, but also it is one of the largest. I definitely like Royal Caribbean's ships.

I think I'm going to go on the Hawaii cruise in 2010. I am also looking forward to planning a cruise to Alaska.

a whole month!

Wow, I have not logged onto my blogs to read posts and update for a month!  I am so behind on everyone's updates.  Sorry!

The end of November and early December was a bit crazy.  I had an old guy (who has been divorced, has 4 kids, and has never been to college) think that I would be interested in dating him.  I guess I was a bit naive...I thought he just wanted to be friends and hang out.  I've decided that we can't even be friends for a whole bunch of reasons: (1) he told me multiple lies; (2) we have nothing in common; (3) he doesn't know how to carry a conversation; (4) he's homophobic.

In other news: I may be getting switched to full-time at my job (yay benefits!).  It's just a maybe because I know there is at least one other person who applied for the position.  They are not likely to hire someone else, but if they do, then I'm going to be unemployed by mid-January because I can't continue to work as a "temporary staff" once I go over 999 hours.

Come February I am going to Japan (Hokkaido) and Hong Kong.  I'll be in Japan for Chinese (Lunar) New Year's.  I'm going to get a gold mouse (I'll try to remember to post a pic when I get it) in Hong Kong.  Yay Year of the Rat!!  My birthday is the day before I leave for Japan, so I'm basically considering this trip to be my birthday present to myself.  This will be the first time I will be away for my birthday.  I'm starting to like no school more and more!

I'm also planning to go on a cruise to Hawaii in May.  I'm going to drop by to see a travel agent today after work.

Dental work:  I have to go in for a biopsy (eww they have to put me to sleep) because the dentists saw a bony mass on the X-ray and CT scan and they don't know what it is.  My biopsy is scheduled in February after I get back from my birthday trip.  After the biopsy, if I don't have to go back for removal surgery, then I'll finally be able to get the implant that I was suppose to get quite a few months ago.

Grad school:  As you may have guessed, I am not applying for grad school for Fall 2008.  I am planning to apply for Fall 2009.  I was going to look at schools over winter break, but laziness and other stuff got in the way.  I intend to figure out schools before I leave for Japan.  I picked up a GRE verbal book so I can start studying for GREs again so I can retake it well before I apply.

NYC

I spent Saturday and Sunday in NYC and had a lot of fun. Spent waay too much money so I don't know how soon I'm going to want to do that again. Maybe next time I will meet up with more people to go out.

I had pretty changed my mind about wanting to go to school in NYC, but spending a weekend there does make me want to reconsider my decision. I guess it doesn't really hurt to look at schools in NYC. I am definitely concerned about the cost of living in NYC...and, of course, the problem of actually being able to find a place. I guess I will cross that bridge when I absolutely have to.

New Toy!

So I got myself a nice little present:

It is the Casio EX-Z1080. I haven't had a chance to play with it yet since I just picked it up after work today, but the battery is fully charged now so I'm going to run off to check out my new camera!

Last night was fun! I went to a party/fundraiser at a Navy base. It was Latino Night. Met some pretty cool people and danced with this cute guy that works on the base. Anyway, thats the most fun I've had in a while.

February travel plans are firming up...I leave on the 5th (a day after my birthday!). One week in Japan and one week in Hong Kong. I am excited!

I started my grad school search again and I've also been including a few schools in Florida...I'm not so sure it's a good idea because of my sensitive (and dislike) for humidity. It can get really frustrating to look at schools cause of my grades. I go from being really confident to feeling like I'm never going to get into grad school...but I guess I definitely won't ever get in anywhere if I don't apply!!
