By the way, please visit me at my new xanga page... Shimmyx012.  I have decided to leave this page and start a new one without the silly username I am currently using.

I solemnly swear that on my new page I will write consistently for your viewing pleasure :)

10 REASONS WHY LONDON IS THE WORLD'S BEST CITY EVER!

10.  You don't need a car.  The London Underground, Bus system, and walking will get you anywhere you need to go in the nick of time.  Yes, friends.  The wonders of public transportation! (And the buses are so cute!)

9. Shopping there is fantastic.  Londoners know how to dress.  From street markets to upscale shopping malls like Harrods, there is so much to buy and everything is just trendier than it is in the Americas.  Now, whether or not you can afford the clothes, shoes, and accessories is another story...

Jimmy Choos.  The most comfortable stilettos ever... umm yea.  If you want to spend AT LEAST 500 DOLLARS!!!

8. Broadway shows there are possibly even better than in New York.  When I was there I went to see Chicago, and it was absolutely amazing.  Since theaters there are alot smaller, it was cozier and every seat was really good.  Not to mention the tickets were a lot cheaper than in new york because we went and got half-price tickets in Leichester Square.

7. Tea time.  This has become a habit I have carried back to "the states."  Its so amazing how many types of teas there are to drink and the entire ceremony of it is so quaint.  I bought tea from Harrods while I was in London and now that I'm back I drink the English Afternoon Tea right after school, and have English Breakfast tea in the morning.

6. Home to my favorite actors in the entire world!  If you know me at all, you know that I love Colin Firth and Daniel Radcliffe with a passion.  Well, since both are from England, my love naturally transferred over to encompass London as well.

5. Londoners are so elegant and polite. Just the way they say things is so great.  They are usually soft-spoken and have the best sayings.  Whenever I had to ask for directions, the person would alway end their conversation by addressing me as sweetheart, darling, or love.  Who wouldn't like to be addressed in that way?

4. Its beautiful.  The buildings are so unique and homely.  Even though you are in a city, it has a suburban feel.  No high skyscrapers to make you feel like a bug in danger of being squashed, and no cold, dark windows that don't show anything inside.  The churches, homes, and even office buildings were beautiful.  And if you even want a little sight of nature, the parks are really clean, and always wonderfully landscaped.  Dogs don't have to be on leashes in the parks (maybe the London niceness extends to dogs too)  and there are always children everywhere.  I've heard that alot of famous people run in the parks too.  Ex: Jude Law, Gweneth Paltrow, etc.

3. Expensive, but alot of things are available free.  You can go into alot of the museums for free now and there are a lot of little cafes where you can listen to music for free..well, you might need to buy a small cup of coffee, but it is still cheaper than buying a concert ticket.  Also, the underground is filled with stree musicians who are often pretty good at what they do.  That's always worth taking a listen.

2. The home of my favorite movies in the entire world:  Harry Potter series, Bridget Jones Diary, What a Girl Wants, and Love Actually.

*On a side note, I went to see Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban yesterday, and i got there 2 hours before the showing to wait in line, and ... there were already 20-25 people in front of us!!! Gosh, never knew there were fans even crazier than I am.  Yes, well the movie was really really good.  DANIEL RADCLIFFE IS SOO CUTE. I know he is younger than me... but "will you marry me Daniel?"

1. Their accents. I know I know.  Your probably thinking, what a superficial reason. But seriously, I melt when I hear a British accent.  Its just so sophisticated, and next to the American accent that I hear every day, its so subtle and peaceful.  While I was in London, there were many times when I was embarrassed by a fellow American tourist who you could hear loudly saying behind us, "HONEY!!! HONEY!!! OVER HERE!!! THIS PLACE IS CRAWLING! NEXT YEAR WE"RE GOING TO HAWAII!"  Sheesh.  Sometimes we can be so rude and sound so harsh.  Haha... I'm probably guilty as well of being loud and rude, but still, hearing others do it and doing it yourself is competely different.

So yes.  That concludes my list of why London is the bestest most greatest city in the whole entire universe.

Haha.  You guys should be proud of me.  This is the longest entry ever!

Currently playing: Delirious "Here I am"

I just came back from ATF Saturday night, so I thought I would fill everyone in on how my trip was.  Well, my school bus didn't show up, so my grandfather had to pick me up after school on Friday.  Of course, I hadn't started packing yet and I was supposed to be at church by 3: 45.  I was really behind schedule since I started packing at 3:15 and it takes at least 30 minutes to get to my church.  Luckily I made it just in time, and Pastor Matt, Janette, Eunyoung, Josh, Jen's friend Sulba, Jen, and I all left for Baltimore.  When we got there, we went straight to the conference at the 1st mariner arena and stayed there until 10:30pm.  It wasn't at all what I was expecting though.  It was really hard for me to pay attention.  Even though it wasn't really my style, I was really touched by how many people around me were being blessed, so I was blessed indirectly.  I definitely saw God working in extraordinary ways during the conference.  Later that night, Kevin, Gi-sun, Denise, and John came up in Gi-Sun's car and met us at the hotel, which was actually pretty clean.  The next morning we went back to the Aquire the Fire conference and listened to more seminars and sermons.  The speakers were actually really good, but the mc was horrible.  He would recap the the entire sermon and spend 4 hours doing it and kept interupting praise time after each song for "reflection."  Not to mention, he had this horrible lisp that made it hard to understand what he was saying.  But at lunchtime we got to go to inner harbor to eat.  It was really beautiful and there was so much to see.  When we got back, the concert section of the conference started.  We got to see DELIRIOUS!  Janette and I really fell in love with the band, especially Martin the lead singer.  he was so fashion savvy, a great singer, and so passionate for God.  That is always hot.  Wait, here's a pic of the band.

hehe.  Well, maybe you had to be there to appreciate their hotness.  Well, I think that's all the time i have today, folks.  Til next time.
