so i got up at 8 in the morning on a sunday, giving up on my attempt to fall asleep.  a bit overwhelmed by the burden of life, i felt troubled by both the certainties and uncertainties that lie ahead.  the certainty of struggle accompanied by the uncertainty of success.  i tried to think of someone or something that would be able to cheer me up around this ungodly hour, but it was impossible.  a dead brain, two missing arkie roommates, and a long list of dimmed screennames . just when i thought that it was hopeless, i spotted a fortune cookie sitting behind my wallet.  and i thought to myself, maybe that little slip of shitty paper will have something written on it that might be worth reading for once...so i sluggishly cracked open the cookie to reveal my fortune within...and to my surprised delight, it read: "Determination will get you through this."  WOW.  just the words i needed to get through the next two weeks. its kinda weird thinking about it.  i mean, how the HELL did it know i was going through tough times?! Why didnt it say a usual, tasteless lie like "You are beautiful and intelligent"?! nonetheless, it was enough to put a smile on my face.  Thank you Golden Bowl Co., my new best friend, for a magical experience.  

a fortune cookie spoke to me today, won't u let it do the same for u?  next time you're going through a shitty day, do yourself a favor. crack open a fortune cookie and let yourself smile.
