| Well, I'm sending out resumes and applying for jobs in Springfield. Andy and I are going down there later this month-he has orientation for school and then we're going to look for apartments.
It's been wierd not having youth group, but it's also given Andy and I a chance to have actual date nights that don't involve the teens-which has been nice. Love you guys, but you're not great for dates!:)
I'm looking for someone to adopt my two cats, so if someone would like then, please let me know.
| MO here we come!Andy got his acceptance call from Evangel yesterday! We're both VERY excited! For those you needing an update, here's a quick recap. Andy resigned from LCA-our last Sunday is this week-and applied to go to Evangel. I have decided to go with him wherever he ends up going to school because I don't want a million hour commute relationship because I think I'd go insane without him!
So, we're going to Springfield MO! We won't be moving until August, so we've still go the summer here in Chicago. No, we won't be living together-I can't believe people have actually asked us that. We're getting seperate apartments-I'm looking for a roommate, so if anyone knows anyone looking in Springfield, that'd be great! We're not getting married before August-that's just crazy fast! And trust me, you'll be the first to know of any wedding news!:) No, I'm not going to school-I went to Olivet for those of you that forgot and I'm not attending grad school in Springfield-at least not yet. That's still in the works because I'm trying to figure out where I want to go and what to study.
So that's the latest news!
| I never update....not much is going on other than boring stuff no one cares about. Oh well....
I went golfing for the first time on Saturday. I was TERRIBLE!!! After about five holes, Andy decided that I was only going to play the par three's-and even those I got 12 swings(the most allowed). So sad! I think if I was good at golf, I would like it-but that means I'd have to practice and stuff, so who knows if that hobby will ever happen!
Wednesday is our last night with the junior high-we're having a fiesta! We only have two more Tuesday's. It's strange and I'm sad but I'm also excited because it means Andy and I can have dates that don't involve youth group stuff! haha For those of you that haven't been updated-Andy is resigning from LCA to go to school-most likely out of state. Pray that everything with school works out-I'll keep everyone updated-hopefully we hear something today!

| Ok..no more dorkiness...for now, anyways...hee hee
Thanks for all the comments-it's good to know there are other fans out there!:)
Andy and I got tickets for tonight's Cubs game, so that should be fun. We'll have to be a little late since he has class tonight, but it's a game, so I can't complain! I get to go home for Mother's Day weekend, so that's going to be lots of fun-I haven't been home since Christmas! My dad and brother are going on a boyscout camping trip for part of the weekend, so it's going to be just us girls, which is always fun. And I'm going to take my mom Adventure eating-we had Thai last time, so I think this time around we're going to try Indian or Greek-any suggestions would be great!!!
That's about all that's going on-today is a a crazy Monday and I have tons to do at work-ugh....I fear I'll never get done....
| Trek is back and releasing my inner nerd......Today has been one of those days that my trekiness comes out in full force.....
One of Andy's prof's was a writer for Next Gen. He got me a script of the Next Gen episode he wrote and signed it for me, which I thought was pretty cool.
I signed up to post on the trektoday message boards and had five responses in one hour about my debate with Andy on how many students are accepted to Starfleet Academy each year and everyone agrees that Andy's theory of one student per testing sight or planet is most likely incorrect...maybe I was just excited about that one because it meant I was right. Everyone referred me to "First Duty" which will be a pain to watch I'm sure because Robert Duncan McNeill is in it...hee hee hee
Then, Trek 11 got annouced today. Well, not offically from Paramount, but it's on the Star Trek site, so that's gotta mean something! Apparently it's going to be written and helmed by the guys behind Lost, Alias and other cool shows, and I'm pretty excited Paramount isn't putting Trek in a nice little box and packing it away since the cancellation of Enterprise. The premise looks as though it will be an early TOS young Kirk/Spock story that deals with them at the Academy. So...my opinions on Trek 11:
1) I've been wanting an Academy series/movie for awhile and have thought it would be an interesting premise and idea. So I'm glad to see that happening as I think there's a lot of things about the Academy we don't know(see second paragraph...maybe my question will get answered!) So I'm not all that upset that it's an Academy movie.
2) I'm glad they're going with known characters. I don't know how I feel about the young Spock/Kirk idea, but I think it's a good way to breathe new life into the franchise by re-visiting characters we know and love instead of creating new ones. I think a whole new cast works better on a series than in the movies, especially when dealing with Star Trek. There's not enough push or I think interest to do a DS9 or Voyager movie-although I wouldn't complain, Nemisis in a way wrapped up the Next Gen franchise-even if it wasn't great, and Enterprise doesn't have a large enough fan base. Plus, you know the studio is trying to make money on this, so by bringing in a cast that didn't have huge ratings to begin with isn't going to happen. I'm just glad they're not trying to do a pre-TOS thing like they did with Enterprise, because I still feel a little annoyed that they did that-it just seemed wrong. Plus, it gives us a look into the lives of the characters we know before we knew them, which I'm always interested in. As far as de-cannonizing, I don't think it does, because we don't know a ton about these characters lives before TOS and it's never mentioned that they were or were not at the Academy together...so I think it's still good.
3) I must admit, I'm a little nervous about having a whole new writing/directing/producing team, but maybe that's what Trek needs? Although, there was a fresh outside approach to Nemisis, and like I said, it wasn't great-but then again, I didn't think it was as bad as everyone else claims. I just hope they don't screw it up! And I hope and pray they don't get stupid WB boy actors to play the characters...I say something on a message board thread about Josh Hartnett playing Spock....UGH...I want to gag-seriously I think that person is insane!!!
So yeah....my day has been great because I love exciting Trek news! I know, I know...I'm a nerd.......
