| I was walking around campus today, looking for the post office (unsuccessfully I may add), until I saw an Azaleas garden right off the street. I never notice this garden before, even though I walked past the entrance numerous times. The path took me to a bench donated by the class of 1937, and all around were azaleas in bloom of pink, magenta, and white.
Azaleas are my mom’s favorite flower, and she would plant them everywhere. She never had much luck with Azaleas because they kept dying on her. A few she over-fertilized, few she forgot to water, and few died of unknown reason. But she kept buying and planting them because she loved them. She said it reminded her of home and pointed out to me how from far away, they seem to be round flowers but in closer inspection, they comprise of clusters of smaller flowers that share a common stem. Each flower possesses its own beauty and life but contribute to the loveliness of the entire blossom.
I sat down on the bench and opened up my “Random Walk Down Wall Street” book, but I couldn’t read. As I gazed at the bees and flies poking in and out of the Azaleas, I slowly felt more home sick. I miss helping my mom water the garden during a summer day like this. I miss feeding the goldfish in my pond and feeling their skin brush past mine as I dip my arms in the water. I miss playing tennis and cards with my dad even though he is a sore winner. I miss singing karaoke to old Chinese songs at the top of my lungs. Most of all, I miss my parents, even my mom’s inability to stop talking and my dad’s need to always get his two-cents in. I can’t wait to go home.

| Do you ever wonder what your life would be like if you did things differently, chose alternative routes? You don't necessarily regret the path you've made for yourself, but in doing so maybe you've wander away from an even better one... | | |
| I am officially on a Smoothy Hut STRIKE!
A person can only take so many disappointments, no matter how much she likes the Spicy Tai Peanut Salad

| I know this is a bit late, but HAPPY NEW YEARS EVERYONE! And of course, what is new years without the inevitable list of resolution that I'll never follow.
1. Get Fit (I believe I made this last year but this time I really mean it!)
2. Stay healthy...and drink lots of ginseng tea.
3. Get better grades and be more involved.
4. Be more considerate such as call my parents more often when I'm not home, be more punctual, etc.
6. Stay positive and have fun.
7. Stop being so afraid...
Well, those were the ones that I could think up, let's see how well I follow my resolutions this year!
