Let's see... haven't been on this thing in quite a while... some highlights from the past few months.

A Ladies' trip back in May - highlights of the trip: Ferry boat ride to and from Culebra, Culebra, Fat Joe/Tego Calderon

Cornelia Spa - Stand Out 5th ave spa... great service . nice facility. Too bad Avon spa at Trump Tower closed their doors in June. I think I've found an even better replacement though...

Driving range... who knew hitting balls with a metal club/driver could be so much fun.

Batting Cages... .who knew you could hurt strain your butt muscle swinging a bat. so disappointed in myself... i can make direct contact and hit the ball dead on... follow through.. but ive been so weak from not working out or being too active that it makes this *plink* noise...  it's sad. Need to go to gym again !

Explored Chicago like a tourist in July... on the hottest, record breaking weekend !!

Mets games... been to a few since the season started...  even got to see them play the Cubs at Wrigley Field. Definately a "to visit" ball park, even if you don't like baseball or the care for the cubs or who they're playing...

Also did winetasting again out on the North Fork... who knew that our very own Long Island Wineries/Vineyards have been gaining more and more notariety, even winning some awards.

Fishing out by Captree... First time, One person out of the 6 of us caught something... I liked the East End fishing and fishing that I've done on the charters out of Sheepshead Bay in the past better. I still have to actually use my own fishing pole sometime this year.

Two weeks ago, was surprized with tickets to Mamma Mia and a delicious dinner at Buddakan.

Drunken debauchery last Saturday at Askew... I hate that word, name, whatever.... I must've heard it a million times over the weekend. It drills a hole in my hea.. despite the name, had a great time... been a long ass time since everyone has gotten drunk together.

This coming weekend... Toronto.... Anyone have any recommendations on Chinese Food up there ? Maybe clubs, someone recommeded Guvernment... anything else ? Also managed to get reservations at Canoe, and I got reservations to check out Rain - anyone every been ? My first choice, Susur, is closed until after Labor Day...*sigh

I had the weirdest dream early last week.....

That I had forgetten about a trip that I was supposed to take. And the morning of my supposed trip someone had woken me up early to pack and get ready for my trip. In a dazed and confused state, I couldn't understand what was going on... like where, why, and what was the nature of my trip. I couldn't even remember if I had purchased tickets, made arrangements, or the exact times or dates of this trip that everyone seemed to have remembered and known about - everyone, except for me. All this took place in my dream.

I wake up the next  morning and don't remember crap. And then later on in the day at the slightest mention of something pertaining to someone else's trip, I remember I'm going to Miami and I remember my dream. And I realize it's coming up the following weekend. I guess it's been a really fast few weeks, with tax season, being sick and allergies starting, keeping myself busy. I've been brainstorming vacation ideas, summer activities, weekend getaways; but the impending trip had slipped my mind completely. I knew I had planned something but everytime it crossed my mind it seemed so far away and undeserving of my attention at those moments. And here it is a week away, and I had to ask for the name of the hotel I'm staying at. Also searched my email vigorously for the emailed confirmation, itinerary or receipt. Apparently, it's been so long that it had gotten erased. I couldn't remember what what website I had booked through ! I'm digging in my bag for my keys this morning and I find the printed itinerary - there it is, thank God.

----- too bad that after all that, trip was cancelled. *sigh

Little recap of recent doings:

Treated myself to a massage during spa week, been a few months since the last one - too long, I had forgotten what I was missing. Apparently the Masseur was able to rub out my shoulder and fix or realign what snowboarding had done. Had a good dinner at a wonderful restaurant called Francisco's Centro Vasco - great all purpose restaurant specializing in delicious spanish cuisine and seafood at moderate prices. Good place to take friends, parents, business colleagues, even saw a couple on a date. They have a wait during dinner hours, but still worth it. Got to see Hoobastank for free at Hard Rock Cafe a few weeks ago - they surprized me, didn't know they were so good live. Attended an engagement last week that felt like a small wedding, wonder how the wedding festivities will be like next year.

Has anyone watched Cirque Du Soleil - Corteo ? Any opinions ? How is it in comparison to their other shows ? Think I'm gonna buy tickets for my mother for her birthday. Have seen two of their other touring shows, and I love the artistry and production. And Bravo's marathon broadcast of their shows every so often is great.

For a friend - anyone know of any reputable Maltese breeders in the New York Area ?

***A Happy, Happy Birthday to Mr. Cheung !

SNOW ?!

Ugh, doing work, sitting at my desk at work, and out of the corner of my eye I see white falling from the sky. It's snowing ?! All last week was in the 60s and even touching in the 70s. I guess I wished too hard... but I had already gotten over the loss of the cold weather and was looking forward to light jacket weather.

Spring is here... I wish the flora would stop fornicating because the pollen is driving me crazy. Due to rain, missed out on free boarding at hunter and instead headed out to Atlantic City. Armed with a box of Dunkin Donuts munchkins, chloraseptic throat spray, cough drops, tissue packs, large cup of lemon herbal tea (which by the way tastes like chemicals) and bottle of water - the Him and i headed out. Arrived at AC in good time and free parking at Caesars puts us right next to their new outlet stores. We fight our hunger to do some shopping. Almost bought myself Osh Kosh B'Gosh Overalls...denim with those doohickey clips/clasps that caused a many kindergarten/first graders to tinkle in their pants in school. 25, and I still fit into kids clothes. HA ! Strolled down the boardwalk from Bally's to Taj for the Sultan's Buffet. Haven't been there in so long we forgot where the good buffet is... so like an oasis in the dessert we finally get there and walk in huge circles and get to the buffet only to realize that we wasted at least 10 mins wandering. Got our food and ate, only to realize the hunger had passed a while ago. We did eat alot but didn't gorge ourselves, good thing too who wants itis while at the casinos. Made our way up to Tropicana to see V for Vendetta in IMAX at the Quarter. I liked it, was pretty good. Usually I'm not too big of a fan of Comic Book to Big Screen movies but this movie was made pretty well. Casino was packed... played some slots and won $400 bucks at a Pink Panther $1 Slot Machine. I've lost the gambling itch long ago, but who can resist those slot machine games that make you forget you're playing for money. Went home not to long after - losing an hour to daylight savings and cold/allergy medicine wasn't exactly encouraging us to gamble. Atlantic City has had alot of changes for the better. All in all a good day.

Turns out it wasn't just allergies bothering me, I'm sick - yet again.
