| | Valentine's Day!Happy Valentine's Day everyone!
So even though I had such a crappy Wednesday which officially ended with the water pipes breaking at 2am in the morning... my Valentine's Day is already so special!
Oliver gave me a present that was presented in such a creative and romantic fashion. Well he's in DC interning at the Federal Reserve right now, but he gave my present to Nancy a week before he left, who gave it to me at midnight. (he didn't trust me with the present because he knew I would open it before Valentine's Day)
I'm not one for mushy and cheesy gifts like teddy bears, flowers and candies. I normally like gifts that are practical or have a personal touch to it. So at first, when I opened his present, I saw a box of Ferraro Rocher candies, then I saw a bar of Lindt chocolates with a post-it that said "OPEN CAREFULLY." I thought that was odd because why should I open chocolate carefully? Then I looked further into the tissue papers and found plugs, and two more aluminum wrapped bars of chocolate.
Obviously, I was really confuse with the plugs until Nancy and Janice told me to look at the Lindt box. I opened it carefully, and found an external hard drive wrapped in a Cadbury wrapper that was obviously meant for one of the aluminum wrapped chocolate bars. Now I know some of you probably think an external hard drive is one of the least romantic Valentine's gifts ever, but it was the perfect present!
If you've seen my laptop, you'll know that it's dying and actually almost died today. I've been contemplating about getting an external hard drive to back up my files for awhile. So this gift was just perfect. Not only that, when I opened the hard drive, I found another surprise! Oliver had downloaded various mp3s of some of my favorite artists. So all in all, my Valentine's Day present was practical, creative and personal.
Even though I had such a horrible Wednesday, this entire thing makes up for it and more. To top it off, Oliver is coming back for the weekend! I know many of you have never seen this side of me (this mushy side... I didn't even realized I could be this sappy) but I'm honestly so happy.
I hope some of you will have a chance to meet Oliver. Even my sister approves! (weird...)
