| Funny thing happened to me today. I went to one of the eating clubs with Thor and some others to play some cash-free poker in a tournament. I left at 9 with the hopes of getting back at 10 to eat some free pizza. I get there and play some and I'm doing alright. I'm playing for real for a while and one hand, I had king 4 suited and went all in on a flush draw and won! So at around 9:50, I decide to start calling everything to quicken my loss. Unfortunately, I end up winning more to insane luck. Eventually, I have a decent sized stack and start going all-in to lose quicker and possibly play some frisbee at 11. I miraculously win even more, although I was at the brink of death once.
Now, my luck tonight was absolutely insane. Unbelieveably insane. It was like I fell out of the lucky tree and hit every branch on the way down. And then got beaten by the lucky stick. After my flush draw win, my luck just got better and better. Some examples, not in sequential order (these are all all-in hands): 7 5 offsuit, get two 7's off the flop and another one on the turn; 4 6 offsuit, win with a straight on the river; 3 4 offsuit, win with 2 pair 3's and 4's; 4 10 offsuit, win with pair of 4's; and numerous pair winners off of low cards. My craziest hand was 2 3 offsuit. I was against 2 people who each had an ace + another card and an ace turns up in the flop along with a 3. The river card then turned out to be a 2 and I won with two pair 2's and 3's. Once, I had king ace suited against pocket queens and won with an ace off the river, but it turned out the dealer had dealt from the wrong deck and I lost.
I eliminated almost everyone I played against and by the end, all of my opponents were scared of me and believed that I had enough luck to win with any hand, which seemed completely true after my quad 7's off a 7 5 offsuit. They'll definitely be mentioning the name James at poker games in Charter.
i forgot to mention, i won a $20 gift certificate to starbucks.
| New Years Resolutions:
-reach 175 lbs
-advance to ultimate frisbee regionals
-do well in school
It doesn't really feel like a new year to me, but I measure years in terms of school years. I guess it helps my birthday is in September.
| Tagged by Angela. 5 weird habits of mine:
1) I smile all the time.
2) When at home or on carpeted stairs, I go up them on all fours.
3) I believe just about anything anyone says.
4) I hate sitting anywhere where people look at me but I can't see them, unless I'm with my friends.
5) When I'm not reading, I'm constantly glancing around everywhere. It makes people think I'm shifty.
I tag Orie, Le, Kevin Tjho, Vic, Ben Chen.

| I got my first start as a handler today! We went to Rutgers and we
played Lehigh first. We won 13-12 on universe point. It was a pretty
good game. I did pretty well and I didn't have a lot of turnovers. Then
we sat out while Rutgers beat Lehigh. When we played Rutgers, we were
pretty cold and we had a lot of sloppy plays. I injured three of our
players on forehands that flew too high. >_> We lost 15-8, but we
were missing a lot of players due to injuries and sickness. Overall it
was pretty good, and I think handling is pretty fun, but I'd like to
try cutting a little. I got to see mad Manalapan people also, which was
cool.
