Hello Friends and Family!
We figured that it was about time we update you all on how our first year as marrieds has been! Officially it’s been a year, one month, and nineteen days! or 415 days ;) We’ve loved every second of it! Our first two months were spent in Word of Life Florida, working for their summer camp! It was a great time working with the youth leaders, an aspect we’ve never had before, and it was a blast! We miss not seeing everyone and being down there this summer, but we are praying for all of you that are involved! This past August we moved to Abby’s hometown in Indiana! Since being up here we’ve learned a lot about life (I.e. bills) and have been enjoying seeing God’s hand of provision for us. There was a house available for us when we moved, however it needed some work done to it, so we spent about six months renovating, and are in many ways still in the midst of it. We moved in January 1st, and are truly relishing in having a home. We learned a lot through the process, like grouting floors and that painter’s tape is not your best friend (at least that is what Abby's experience told her), and we're now experts at using spray cans! If you need anything painted, give us call! We also joined a church in the next town over. It’s the same church where we were married!! So some of you will remember what it looks like. It’s a growing church and we’ve loved seeing God work in His people and through the ministries they have. We also know many who go there and so have great fellowship and we continue to meet new people. We’ve been able to get involved some through their drama program, and youth group and we just love the church family!
As far as what all we’re doing for jobs, this last half of the school year we worked as substitutes for a school outside of town for kids whose families either can’t take care of them or they need a more disciplined learning environment. We had a great time with them, and had many opportunities to share with the kids, get to know them better and just try and be an example to them. Abby is still there for the time being for their summer school, when they need her, which she likes because some of these kids she's grown sincerely attached to and can’t help knowing how they are! She's also been working at a chocolate factory, started by a good friend of hers. She started working there this past September and since then has learned to make all kinds of yummy delights, and most assuredly gained an extra sweet tooth as a result. It’s a job that’s truly been a blessing, as the people who work there are fellow sisters in Christ and have been great encouragers. Since the end of the school year, Andy has taken a job right across the street from where we live, at a pool cover company !! Talk about saving gas!! He travels a lot with them as a service technician and enjoys what he does! Pray for him as he has had opportunities to witness to his co-workers! God has truly just provided for us in our every step. We have not wanted for anything!
All in all, God has just been working in our lives and we continue to learn more about His attributes and character. We are just waiting to see what else God has for us, until then we are enjoying getting involved in ministry opportunities here and are eager to see results! We also just want to say a HUGE THANK YOU!! To all of you who have helped support us this year through your prayers and gifts (from across the country and beyond!), coming to the wedding, and just contributing to our lives through your examples and love, we can’t tell you how much it’s meant to us. You have all helped our first year together get off to a wonderful, loving start and we will forever be grateful! You’re all such an example of God’s abundance in blessings and we love you all so much!!
