Movin' On Up!

[Mood:Excited]
I got into OU!!!
That means, OM and I will be moving to Oklahoma City next month.  I got accepted into Brandeis as well, but there's no way I could really afford to go there.  Ever with the scholarships they offered, tuition was going to be $20,000 per year.  Add that to the cost of moving, living expenses, etc... it just wasn't going to happen.  And UT did not accept me.  I was put on the waiting list but, as they put it, "You're kinda towards the bottom, so I would go ahead and accept one of your other offers."
And, as an example of my excessive planning, we already have an apartment lined up.  Yes, we found out where we are going yesterday.  I am just that good.  Called them today.  Yes, it's a high rise.  Yes, it's all bills paid.  We will be on the 18th floor.  I am not kidding.

So, I promised that I'd post photos of my new hair.  Are you sure you're ready?  Behold!
This is me before:

And this is me after:

Granted, I not planning to keep the mohawk for very long.  I just figured I'd do something fun for graduation/birthday.  Already, I'm not wearing it "done" all the time.  That spike glue I use is tough!  I have to shampoo it out, and let the soap sit in my hair for a minute to soften the goo.  Once the festivities are over, I'll go back to semi-normal hair.

Speaking of, my birthday was really fun.  OM made dinner last Saturday night, which was really nice!  We grilled mini-burgers with garlic oil, and watched Juno.  It was so sweet of him to do something like that.  We had a family party last Sunday (complete with my personal request for dinner - southwest chicken crepes.)  And then this Saturday, OM and the movie night crew got together and had another party for me!  I'm so lucky to have such friends and family in my life.  They decorated the house, and got ice cream cake (which we have a ton of, leftover.)  New movies, money for clothes, and books, ftw.

By Popular Demand...

(Alternate title: Because I love my 'Manda!)

[Mood:Excited]
So, for the first time in three years, Circeo is coming out of hiding.  I think enough time has passed for all the silliness to blow over, and turning over a new leaf is important, occasionally.  If anyone thinks its necessary, I'll go back and re-publicize the last 3 years worth of posts.  This also means I'll probably close down my mirror, Cirsaimah.  Just fyi.  And public-ness might help various causes:
1) Up-coming events and accompanying invites.
2) Life_by_us's fight to become our Xangan Idol.  (They said my vote wouldn't count if I had friends-lock on.  Technically, I don't, but... thought I better be safe.)

So, short update on the past few weeks before you get the future.
My interview at UT in Houston was awesome.  I was really, really pleasantly surprised by how great it was.  It was WAY better organized/informative than the other interviews.  We got to meet with the financial aid people, the graduate school dean, and every single student.  First years were always around to help us find our way around, which was very, very good.  Kadye and I drove home Friday night, after we were done.  That was pretty tough, but I'm glad we did it, because we got to have more of a weekend that way.
I got my Biochem presentation out of the way this week.  Procrastination of this project resulted in two ice cream runs, one open bottle of wine, a clean kitchen with no dirty dishes, a new WoW character leveled to 12, and watching all three seasons of Grey's Anatomy in the past 4 weeks.  But now its done.  And I have a paper due nest Wednesday.  Let the procrastination begin.
Ironically enough, I missed Grey's comeback last night.  OM and I went to pick up sushii (he wanted B-Dub's, but I convinced him to go sushii,) and I got a call from some federal office wanting me to take a phone survey.  They said it would take 20 minutes.  FORTY-FIVE minutes later, I've missed the first half of Grey's, and my sushii sucked.  Nakamura cannot make sunamono salad to save their lives - don't waste your 3 bucks.  Chirashi is way better if actually seasoned, and the fish are cut into bite size strips, like it's supposed to be.  Where's a bubble tea when you need one?
Also of note - chocolate covered coffee beans are absolutely the best things ever.  Except for this (Yes, we've all seen it.  But it deserves to be repeated as often as possible):

I should also mention that I cut my hair.  No pictures for this post, though, because I'm at school and have no camera.  (This gives me another reason to procrastinate my paper, in case I need one.)  But trust me, photos must be taken to prove that it is so.  Oh yes.

So, on to the future...
-Birthday next Tuesday.  Not really all that exciting for everyone else, but still significant.  Contribute to the "new couch and/or car" fund if you feel so compelled.
-Graduation!!!  This is important.  My parents, in their awesomeness, are having a party for OM and I after the ceremony, May 10th.  Dad is home-brewing three batches of beer and will be smoking/grilling large chunks of meat for all present.  (Ginger beer ftw!  I am not kidding.)  So, show up and get some food and have some post-graduation fun with the unknown relatives!  If you seriously don't know where my parents' house is, leave a comment and I'll give you the address.  Calling me would be a good idea, too, but I figure no one knows my number at this point.
