| Namaste!That
means 'I bow to you' in Nepali, the country I most recently was in. Recapping
a little of Nepal; we trekked some in the glorious mountains, but
mostly we went to teach.
The
day began like most; the team woke up ate and headed out to the
village where we would teach for the day. We had been traveling down
the road trekkers take to get to Mt. Everest; our mode of
transportation was a jerry-rigged truck w/ a couple benches and a
canopy. I can still remember how we would be enveloped by the clouds
and see the mountains around us, but also in the same ride we would
grow nauseas from the car fumes. At the
end of one particular ride I grew especially sick and on returning to
my room had a second glimpse of my lunch. Laying in my bed I
realized the next morning was my turn to speak. Honestly, I did not
care after moving 14 or so times in one month; I simply wanted to go
home. As I lay there on that hard Nepali bed I wrote, “You've
called me here for this season of my life to do the things I didn't
think I could do.” Cooped up all day trying to study my message on
forgiveness just felt like one more thing “I didn't think I could
do.” I hardly felt qualified to be
speaking on such a heavy topic, but I had prayed hard about what I
should speak on and I clearly felt forgiveness was my topic. Looking
over my notes I realized a key reason to
why I was in YWAM. All my life I'd wanted to know how to forgive; I
had come to YWAM to learn how. In DTS I had learned how to forgive
and in SOE I learned how to teach forgiveness. God was blowing my
mind by this point. If I had given up and gone home with out
teaching I would have missed a wonderful gift God was trying to give
me. He had brought me full circle and given me the desire of my
heart. HOOYAH!
HERE
I COME S. KOREA! Well on October 4th I will be going with a
DTS from Tyler, TX to Korea! There we will teach english and share
the love of God to the people of S. Korea. Why am I going? Earlier
this summer I heard about the trip led by my DTS outreach leader and
I also heard she needed help with the trip. Ever since I had learned
more about Korea in DTS and SOE I have wanted to go. Since hearing
about the trip I have prayed and saught God; I feel His peace going
on this trip. So pray about being on my support team to KOREA!
To
quote Caedmon's call,
You
know I've heard good people say There's nothing I can do That's
half a world away Well maybe you've got money Maybe you've
got time Maybe you've got the Living Well That ain't every
running dry
Maybe you don't have the time, but maybe you've got a little money.
So lets work together and share this living well. I need $1,600 so
can you help?
Love,
Jessica |

| a little ironic...5 in the morning and i'm looking at the movie 'Emma' debating whether or not i'm willing to watch it even though i know ever plot twist. As I study the back of the box i read in the summary, "...based on the story that inspired the hit movie Clueless!" um, clueless was a good movie and all but seriously!? What about the novel by Jane Austen! Speaking of Austen did anyone catch the article about her...here it is. Amusing to the last drop.
Well i checked my email this evening and found the map site schmap.com had used one of my photos in their map of houston. you can see the map here my photo is under the Holocaust Museum. have fun.

| blahblahblahhow's everyone's lives in the fast lane comin? anyone do anything risky lately? do tell....i should get out more. (understatement)
why can't people like practical things like...toyota camry's instead of a 60s model mustang or a really jack'd up jeep wrangler. How can it be bad for you when it tastes sooo good! hahah. start brain washing children now into believing minivans and nissan sentras are cool. do it! (no offense to people w/ the above named cars...but if you do have one of those mustangs or jeeps...please let me be your friend, let me live vicariously through you...vicarious living is better than nothin')
