Name: Woody
Birthday: 6/15/1986
Gender: Male

Interests: I'm a Christian. I love God. I love plants. Not for smoking mind you, most of the plants I work with aren't smokeable. Not that I've tried. I love my ancestry, all sides of it. Whether it's my Irish side, my Scottish Side, my German side, my Norwegian side or my Indian side. I'll have to admit that I favor my Scottish ancestry though. Seeing as how I'm the proud wearer of a kilt, sporran, flash and hose. On that note, I also love competing in Scottish Heavy Athletics, despite the fact that I'm no good at it. But I'm getting there. Oh yes...I'm getting there.
Expertise: I'm good at math, but I hate it with a burning passion. I am an artist in the field of computers, but I fail miserably when it comes to pen and paper. I'm at college right now, and I'm majoring in Landscape Design. Oh yeah, and I rule the world. But no one knows, so don't tell them.

There's just something about THIS story that strikes me as really funny. I think it's because I hate monkeys.

Yeeeargh!
I just found out that Sport Kilt now offers the Ancient Henderson tartan in their poly-viscos kilt selection! Wowzers! Do you have any idea how excited I am!?
Look at it this way; a wool kilt is going to cost you anywhere between $300 to $500 dollars. Because poly-viscos is a synthetic fabric, it's a heckcuva lot cheaper to make. (And it's the closest matching synthetic fabric to genuine wool.) Which means that a poly-kilt is only going to cost a little over $100 dollars!
The one problem is, is that the tartan selection in poly is limited. But they've been slowly expanding, and now they've added Henderson to the list of available setts! Woopee!
With the renaissance fair coming up, I plan to purchase a Targe. I'm hoping to have enough cash left over to get a Henderson kilt too. That would be so freakin' phat.

In normal news, I just got my stationwagon back on the road. What a car. I love that thing. Wood panelling, 8-cylinder engine, power windows! Oh yeahhh.

Well, this weekend we checked out that Blacksmithing Fair.

It's the California Blacksmithing Association, and it was hosted at Sierra Forge & Fire, right here in our hometown of Exeter. It's a metal-working school that specializes in blacksmithing, bladesmithing and glassblowing. In fact, it's 1 out of 2 schools in the world that specializes on bladesmithing. Check out their website.
Sierra Forge & Fire
I want to take some of the classes, particularly the bladesmithing classes. The one drawback is that it costs $700+ to enroll. I talked to a lady at the fair, and she told me that SFF is trying to set up a program with C.O.S. to make it easier for us lowly, poor college students to get into their school. Because $700 is a lot of money, and I'd be more likely to spend that much cash on a 100% Wool Henderson kilt.
Speaking of Highlander attire: I think the entire outfit is pretty snazzy looking, except for one piece: The Ghillie Broghs. (Those are the dress shoes that go with a kilt.) Man, those are the ugliest, wimpiest looking shoes I've ever seen! I mean come on, are we Scotsmen, or are we Frenchmen!?
If I ever go to a Robbie Burns dinner, I'd probably wear my giant, English-stomping boots. Oh yeah.

My website is stalled. Or rather, I should say that I am stalling on my website. So I'll be around on xanga for a while longer. As for now, I'm outta here.

Okay, okay. So I'm not quitting after all. I am, however, going to see a school counselor to discuss how I would go about filing a complaint against my chump boss.
He also cut some of my hours. His reasonings were justifiable, though not entirely couth. What really delt the kick below the belt was that he didn't bother to call me or e-mail me and tell me about it. Now, as a result, because I didn't know my hours had been cut, I'm stuck here at the farm. AGAIN.
Yes, the kind of crap I put up with from him is perfectly common in the work enviroment, and if this were a normal work enviroment, he would get away with it scot-free.
But it's not. He's also a teacher, who's payroll is made possible by the taxpayers of America. And now that I delve deep into the dark recesses of my past and scan the events of Fall '05, I actually do recall him treating other students and workers the same way I'm being treated now. I just never noticed.
The only difference between me and them, is I'm not gonna take it sitting down. If he wants to call me stupid, treat me stupid, accuse me of lying and insult my moral ethics, he'd better expect something to come back and kick him in the face. 'Cos that's what's about to happen!

I may be a pretty laid-back kind of guy, but every once and a while, I like to "stir the simmering pot," or "splash the oil in the deep-fryer." (Made the latter one up myself. Pretty good, no?)

In happier and more pleasant news...many things being much more pleasant than discussing my boss, such as shoving tooth-picks up my fingernails, or perhaps soldering my nostrils together before piercing them with a rusty needle.
Anyways, in happier and more pleasant news, my caber will be here this Friday. And this saturday, the California Blacksmithing Association is having it's Spring Convention right here in Exeter, at Sierra Forge and Fire, with plenty of events open to the public. We definately plan on attending.
And hey! My website is coming along nicely. It looks mas purdy.

Take it easy holmes.
