Hi guys :)

Here are this week's prayer requests (I apologize for not getting them to you earlier!):

Ephesians 5:15-17
Be very careful, then, how you live - not as unwise but as wise,
making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil.
therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord's will is.

Elisa (welcome!) - Pray that the Thanksgiving Dinner would be
successful and bring glory to God; Pray for her interview on Monday -
that God's will will be in her heart as she speaks

Mindy - Pray for her decision to go back home on December 20. Pray
that God will grant her grace and discipline in her struggle to juggle
her schoolwork with her relationships; pray for widsom with regard to
her return to Canada, keep her family in prayer please.

Jeena (welcome!) - Grandmother in Korea recently had surgery on her
leg and is a bit frustrated and lonely at home - please pray for her;
pray for Jeena's close friend from home who is going thru some faith
struggles right now.

Johnny - pray for his trip home to the States and Seung's wedding

Danny - final audition for Miss Saigon is this Monday! Pray for him
to bring Glory to God through his audition and that he would be able
to memorize lyrics well. Danny will bring coworkers to church on
Sunday - pray that they would be moved by and filled with the Spirit
during their visit. Also, pray for his trip to the States with Johnny
and P.Dave and Timmy(?) and the wedding.

Christina - pray that God will keep working on her older sister Jen
and her younger sister Katie.

Min (welcome!) - looking for a job right now - that God will grant him
wisdom and opportunity; also his mom is having heart problems and her
face is swollen right now - please pray for her

Kensie - coworker named Sunny is searching and asking Kensie about the
Bible and Jesus - pray that God will continue to work in her heart and
that He would grant Kensie wisdom and effectiveness in witnessing;
pray that God will continue to convict Kensie to pray with committment
and diligence

Anthony - pray for conviction to pray for people other than himself -
family, JSEM, home, China, friends; 1979ers meeting - that they will
be able to build strong relationships and pray together - this
Saturday may be Mindy's last meeting

Gene - pray for clear head and heart; pray for his friend at work -
that he will learn to pursue and love God first and above all else

Cooper - uncle is dying of thyroid cancer and cousin is having surgery
for a big brain tumor being her eye on Dec 20 - pray for healing,
recovery, and hearts that are soft for God

DP - he's got back pain - pray for healing

Evan - his wisdom teeth have been pulled out!! ewww!! :) pray for
quick healing/recovery.

But what does it say? "The word is near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart." that is the word of faith we are proclaming: That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved. As the Scripture says, "Anyone who trusts in him will never be put to shame." For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile- the same Lord id Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on him, for "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved."

How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in?

And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard?

And how can they hear without someone preaching to them?

And how can they preach unless they are sent?

As it is written, "How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!"  

(Romans 10:8-15)

Gene- wants to pray for someone at JSEM who's really struggling with depression and also for pastor dave that God would give him wisdom to help this person.

Christina- asks prayer for the guy from Vietnam in her Korean class who hardly gets a chance to speak and for her sisters that God would keep pursuing them.

Mikyung - needs prayer for her commitment for baptism and that she can stand firm in faith despite the fact that she is the only Christian in her family.

Hae-eun - asks prayer for physical and spiritual health. Also, pray that she can pray constantly and be diligent spending intimate time with God.

Evan- needs prayer that he can evangelize his friends.

Anthony- wants to pray for one of his students who's a Buddhist that he may be open to opportunities to know Christ. 

Sunny- pray for me that I could be spiritually ready for missions and return to Boston.

Kip does not have any prayer requests this week. but, please keep him in your prayers and also those who couldn't make it to house church. let's continue to praise God for answered prayers and continual lessons from failure and mistakes and have a burden for the lost.

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. (Romans 15:13)

Pastor Sam asks prayer for family reunion in Dec. in Chicago that it'll be a time of blessing, and for his mom's health. Also, pray for his Korean that he may be able to use it to evangelize Koreans.

Anthony is going away for cousin's wedding in Busan. Since his cousins are nonChristians, pray that God would work through him and the circumstances to change the people's heart. He also asks prayer for 79 peeps that they can be a group of prayer.

Laura has a cold. Pray for her health and study. Also, her school nurse has a cancer and is getting a surgery soon. She's the only believer in her family, so pray for the salvation of her family and for her health.

John wants to pray for preparation for Sung's wedding and another English teacher at his school, Mr.Hwang, who was upset by the students, and wanted to quit his job. pray that the situation would get better.

Kip asks prayer for his brother that he can find the church, and for himself that he trusts God. Pray also for his mom, since she's been under stress.

Kensie (woohoo welcome!) wants to pray for her sister who's in the first year at college that she may be able to find the church and good friends. She's been spiritually challenged by the local ministry that she just got involved with. pray for her spiritual strength and the ministry.

Gene asks prayer for Christina. her friend just passed away and she's worried about her friends back home who are mostly non-Christians. pray for her friends and her that she may find comfort in God.

Woo needs prayer for God's direction. He originally planned to stay here for 3 months and go back to the States but is not sure now what his next step should be.

Sunny pray for me that i can rejoice in Him each and everyday, despite the circumstances.

Let's not forget to pray for Danny as his musical starts from today that he may bring glory to God.  

 Accept him whose faith is weak

without passing judgment

on disputable matters.

I know we wanted Kip to go first for this special entry, SPOTLIGHT, but if you guys don't mind, shall I go first? hehe. Love you all and thank you always.

P.S: Gene, I forgot the questions you made for spotlight..can i just answer the one that i can remember now? 

Q> WHAT IS LOVE?

A>  I will answer this question according to what i've learned from my dear friends at Nonhyun House Church. 

Gene - Love is patient. even when I'm wrong and selfish about how I want things for our house church, he listens patiently and corrects me gently.

Kip - Love is kind. even if we don't know each other that well, his kindness and wisdom always make me smile.

Anthony - Love is giving. his enthusiasm for bonding friendship by giving out his Winnie the Pooh spreads the love all around.

John - Love is gentle. his silent presence and gentleness always lift me up even when i'm going through the worst times of my life.   

Danny - Love keeps no record of wrongs. even if he knows my walk with God has not been pretty, he does not judge and accepts me as i am.

Evan - Love is passionate. his love for God says it.  

Mindy&Laura - Love rejoices with the truth. the sparkles in their eyes when they share the Word always bring me back into the love of God and the Body.

Christina - Love is not self-seeking. When she constantly asks prayer for her neighborhood and Seoul, I learn what love is all about.

Thanks Gene for this wonderful idea of spotlight. Thank you all for teaching me to love.
