The song's name is "For Bus Uncle", which relates to the recent hot incident: Bus Uncle vs. four-eye guy. If anyone still doesn't know who's bus uncle, you are not in fashion.

http://youtube.com/watch?v=GzbdsdLEEb0&feature=Views&page=2&t=t&f=b

What if I were the four-eye guy... that's the question I am always in my mind.. I think I will "solve" the problem by simply get off the bus.. what do you think?

Saturday, May 20, 2006

Jennifer has a very sweet voice, but she's always too shy to sing. Gigi was in the SPCC choir so no doubt she's a good singer. What I want to talk about here is Mr. Ball Ball. He's a fan of Sammi Cheng and he loved her songs, even better than the guy in this clip:

See, never underestimate boy's power. Ball Ball, let's sing a duet sometime.

Thursday, February 05, 2004

I declined the offer to live at the new dorm because i think i should spend more time with my family... sounds like a woman, yet also very "Confucian"...

Saturday, January 24, 2004

Just war theory is a tradition to justify wars. It is a pity that it plays a less significant role nowadays in 21st century. Worse still, it lacks Confucian elements... which is really something that I need to revitalize...

¨½¦³¤¯¦ó¶·¤ìÅM¡A«äµL¨¸¤£¥Î®ç²Å¡DThat's really the best couplet I have ever seen. Hope you can translate it yourself.
A. A story/biography about Chicago Bulls translated from English into Chinese

B. A fairy tale telling people don't commit adultery

C. A book explaining Existentialism

D. A book explaining Confucianism

E. None of the above

Get it right? It's D.

It's a book fully analysing "Spring and Autumn", an extremely difficult Confucian text mainly about political philosophy. Sounds interesting~

Copying from two is research. I am doing something more than research now. Brian and Company really inspires me to be creative. "Being creative is to COPY." Jennifer, next time please call me "creative researcher".

In fact, the "Just War Tradition" is a "continuous copying process":

Sources and Development of the Just War Tradition (Source: Morality & contemporary warfare)

Late classical era: deep roots, early expressions
The Bible (Old and New Testaments)
Roman law and practice
Christian theology: writers such as Clement of Alexandria, Ambrose, Augustine

Medieval era: coalescence of a cultural consensus
Canon law: Gratian¡¦s Decretum, writings of Decretists and Decretalists
Scholastic theology
The code and customs of chivalry
Customary rights and practices sovereigns
The inherited idea of Jus Gentium (Law of peoples or nations)

16th to 18th centuries: consolidation, transformation, differentiation
Transformation to natural-law base: Victoria, Suarez, Grotius, others
Theory of international law: Grotius, Pufendorf. Vattel, others
Military codes of discipline replacing chivalric code
Limited war theory and practice: ¡§Sovereigns¡¦ wars¡¨

19th century: further definition within distinct streams
Customary international law
First Hague Conference
Origin of Geneva Conventions
Military manuals on the law of war
Popular, philosophical, and religious efforts to restrain or end war

20th century: elaboration and growing interaction
Positive international law
Jus ad bellum: League of Nations covenant, Pact of Paris, UN Charter
Jus in bello: Arms limitation treaties and conventions, growth of humanitarian international law
Military manuals on law of war, rules of engagement
Religious and philosophical recovery of just war concepts
Public debate over war, its meaning and effects

See? Christian Theologists were copying stuff from the Bible. I copy stuff from J.T. Johnson... a guy who wrote a book which has a damn long reference list, just like the other researchers.

Cow, have you copied anything from the Xu Zhi Mo?
