  • I am woman, hear me whine...

I'd like to report that I have gotten better and am ready to run a marathon.

But, thats sooo not the case.

The meds haven't stopped things, yet.

I'm winded walking around the coffee table now.  Woo hoo, see I told you - I'm running a marathon.  LOL!

Ultrasound showed enough to do a biopsy on the spot, but I'm not sure what it really all meant.. other than the pain of that procedure made childbirth look a breeze.  UGH!

Stay on the meds.  Add iron to the meds, my numbers aren't good.  My thyroid, on the other hand, is fine.

Go back in one week.  Where we will  talk options.

    I have a couple.  Door #1, or Door #2.

    Which to pick?  Hmmmm....

What's going on?! I missed something... I am off to see.

Based on findings - and my mom's history - If I am ever in your shoes - I would choose door #2 - but that is a moho - my mom had ovarian cancer that wasn't caught in time and I lost her too soon.  Be safe dear one and make sure they do it right!

Awww miss gina!  i hope you feel better!!!  I'm so sorry :(

I had to have a liver biopsy once (not sure if it was a similar procedure or not) but i would also agree that it made childbirth look like a piece of cake - not fun!

Take it easy and I'll be praying for you!

you look way too young in that photo to be having to worry about the beginning of menopause. (i had trouble with anemia and crazy girl schedules during that time) hugs & prayers to you...

  • cz_scrap

Doesn't sound like fun....hang in there!

  • CraftTeaLady

@FlashFosgitt - Yep, menopause is still a long way off for me.  Thanks for the hugs though!  I appreciate it!

Being a fellow anemiac....let me know if you can't tolerate the irons supplements....I have a couple that got my levels up and were much more tummy friendly...Sorry your not doing well...a good time to watch a few movies...read a few books...sleep and relax.

    Miss Gina...

I could have written your entire story about a year and half ago!  I ended up with Door # 2 (partial... left me some ovaries).  I had a softball sized uterine fibroid and those heavy heavy "girly" days..  Try teaching while trying NOT to bleed out before you can make it back to the bathroom for a change!  It wasn't that bad... they went in through the "fun" zone and my recovery was pretty minimal (really!  I went back to school for the last week of school!  I couldn't lift anything heavy for 6-8 weeks, but otherwise I felt so much better!)

Okay  I wrote a book.. you can talk to me iffen' you need to know more (not that I left out much! LOL)

    Hugs,

    LIsa

Prayers coming your way.  The Lord is with you and will give you wisdom to know which door to go through.

I had an ablation in May - they wouldn't do a hysterectomy just yet (insurance) - had to see if this worked first.  So far it has!  I had an ablation, D&C, and a tubal for good measure.  Prayers for you that it gets taken care of quickly! Suz

Gina, I am praying for you. What else can I say??  wish things would be gentler on you, I do.

  • Mother_Moonie

I started praying this morning the minute I started reading 'how good' this post is. I had Door #2... it did take six full weeks to recover, and they left my ovaries in, but I don't regret it one bit. It took me a year before I'd pull down my pants and actually NOT be surprised that there was nothing in my panties!! Sounds kooky, I know, but it was actually kind of funny, because before hand  I was ALWAYS on my girl schedule... it was a rarity when I wasn't! It was like the surprise that kept giving itself everytime I peeked, and nothing was there!

  • dulcilee

Gina,   I had a friend that had to try the ablation first.  It didn't not work and she ended up having a hysterectomy a  year or so later.  They had to take everything.  She is only 36 years old.  She has to be on anti-menopause.  So she doesn't go into it.  Well I have heard that if you do keep your ovaries you won't go into it because they still secrete hormones into the body.  I don't suggest anti-menopause medicines because they have been known to cause cancer.  Weigh your options carefully.  I wouldn't think the oblation would hurt because I had oblation done on my heart and I couldn't tell.  I'm not sure though.

    I will be praying.

    Jaime

I was diagnosed with dysplasia many years ago. I went with the freezing procedure.  It is by no means comfortable, but it worked.  Massive cramping for about 2-3 days. Day one is by far the worst.  Not too bad though as procedures for this type of thing.  I had bleed nearly non-stop for about 4 months before the great military docs would send me to a specialist.  Hugs to you!

IMy daughter had door #1 twice and ended up having door #2.  I has really saved her health since she had it.  I would recommend not going through door #1 and opening door #2.  Have them leave your ovaries if possible. This is what the doctor did for my daughter.

Thank you for the update...know you are being held before the Father...

  • portiajules

  • webchyck

You know me...I'm all for Door #2...best thing I ever did!

  • Bobbie413

Prayers going your way, Gina.  I started menopause in my mid 40's...some people get to do it early!!!  LOL!  I will just be praying for whatever decision you make and for this recovery and healing.

  • CAthyMomto5

    Hi Gina...

I'm glad these other ladies knew what you were talking about cuz I was LOST!  As far as menopause goes....it can sneak up on you!  I had my 5th baby and never got my period again....EVER!  I was 40yo.  Now I'm 47yo.  It was an adjustment mentally/emotionally.... but I'm glad it was so easy!  I figure....who could complain if it was that easy?  I just stopped having a cycle and every once it a while I'd run a little warm.  That's IT!!  I really can't complain!

I pray that all turns out well with you and you bounce back quickly no matter what "door" the Lord allows you to walk through.

    Blessings,

    Cathy R (CAMomto5)
