| The Bigger picture...We sometimes have the tendency to completely miss out on the big picture. We're selfish human beings who tend to do everything for self satisfaction. I had the opportunity to speak today with my former pastor and his wife from when I lived in Michigan. I love these two people so much and they have been a huge part in my life and shaping who I am today. Anyways...they're really struggling with the church they're in right now and I was just reminded of how bitter people can be. I've spent my share of time as a kid of a pastor and it just blows my mind how much turmoil and difficulty can strike a church. On the contrary, God is good and powerful and mighty and His timing is PERFECT. When I think of problems in churches a particular verse comes to my mind..."He must increase and I must decrease". This is the truth that MUST ring true in our lives. It's not about us...it's all about the one true living God and His story of grace and truth. God is in control and therefore there is no need for us as mere human beings to worry or be anxious about anything. I praise my Lord for who He is and what He has done for me and my one desire, in all that I do, is to lift high the name of Jesus and do everything for purely His honor and Glory!!!! | | |
| A post dedicated to Becca!Ok...So I would like to begin by wishing everyone a "Happy CONSTITUTION Day". I hope everyone has a relieving day with people that bring them pleasure...Only Becca will understand this! Next, I would like to engage you in a thinking process such as this: what words rhyme with Constitution?...really think about this. Lastly, I would like to say that I am so glad it is Friday. It amazes me how quickly the weeks are flying by. I think it's because I'm spending them with AMAZING people who have brought so much joy into my life. Anyways, I leave you with some great lyrics from an awesome song that I've had running through my head all day... | It's been awhile!!Wow...It's been a VERY long time since I have posted. Let's see here...in the last post I was having some of the hardest weeks of my life...but...through God's great power that greatly changed with the start of college. FGCU is AMAZING...and the people I've met are even more AMAZING! God has sent a couple of really great people into my life! I love music more now than ever. I've met some incredibly talented people and I've already learned so much in the past three weeks. God is teaching me a lot though. With a music major comes tons of hard work. I learned real quickly that I can't do any of this through my own strength. I've also really held onto the verse that tells me to be anxious about nothing...why...because God's in complete total control and his timing and plans are perfect...God's good...in the good times and bad...God is Good!!! | | |
| LIFE....God gives and God takes away...wow that is so hard to grasp ahold of when things in life seem to be doing everything they can to go against you. A wise friend whom I think very highly of reminded me that there's a season for everything and God gives...but God also has the amazing power to take away. Friends can hurt you...Friends can make unwise choices that they don't even realize they are making and for those of us who care deeply for them have one choice to make. The choice is not to sit and tell them how stupid they are being and that they need to wake up and smell the roses, but rather the choice is to fall on knees before a holy God and lift them up in prayer and understand that His plan is perfect and he never ever leaves us or forsakes us. I think about the words to the song "Friends"...Friends are friends forever if the Lords the Lord of them. The friendship may not withstand earthly trials, but in heaven friends will not only be friends, but they will be friends through the shed blood of Jesus Christ and in Heaven there will not be trials that tear friends apart...Hallelujah!!! The things that take place are just part of the grand story that he has authored. My God is bigger than any other human being and He is all knowing. While we can't look down the road and see what the outcome will be of various situations...God can...and oh how incredibly awesome it is to have that assurrance. God gives and God takes away...Praise His name forever!!!! | | |
| I'm so excited!!!I'm so excited...I finally got a laptop. It's a sony vaio and it's green and it's really pretty. I absolutely love it...yay!!! I've been puting pictures and music and stuff onto it...it makes me feel all old and grown up...haha...I'm a dork. Anyways...I haven't seen anyone in like forever...I think we all need to get together or something. Hope everyone is doing well!!! By the way...I start college in like a month and a half and I cannot wait...it's gonna be awesome!!! | | |
