| Holy Crap it's an Update!Well, a belated merry christmas and happy new year to everyone. Also a
belated happy birthday to those the past month or so (tovah and ashley
to name two).
I
have a few things to report on...one will have to wait until later this
week unfortunately because I can't have the info getting out too soon.
Biggest
one is....I'm officially living in my new home! Hooray!! Through his
week off at work dave got a good deal of the big stuff in and set up
all while I was working and with the help of a few friends. We've got
the two couches downstairs and the tv hooked up to the game systems for
movies. Our cable box was supposed to be set up yesterday except it was
a stat and shaw was closed lol. Second bedroom has a futon couch and
some stuff that hasn't been set up yet for video games haha, my hitachi
tv that's older than me is in there for the old systems, i love that
thing. Our actual bed was brought over after about a week or so of us
sleeping on the futon haha.
We bought a dining room table two
days before a big dinner for family. Got a coffee table the day of lol.
Thank god for IKEA people! no joke... went down all of united blvd to
the furniture places, and nothing for a decent price or small in size.
so, ikea is still our favorite lol.
AS mentioned, had a family
dinner for christmas on the 30th for my dad, aunt, and nana. Things
went off without a hitch which surprised me a great deal.lol. Dad was
pretty shocked to see the place finished since the last time we were
still painting and the floor wasn't even started.
Now that
holiday is finally over, things should start to slow down...but i doubt
it. My class is supposed to start on the eighth but i may have to
postpone a year due to circumstances i can't mention yet. If I'm lucky
I can strike a deal for the three months of my course and be finished
at douglas with my associates degree. If i'm still going to the class,
it'll be a rough three months with working full time at the same
time...but it's only three months, just gotta remind myself of that.
New
years was a nice home event. Christa and Ty came over for food and
drinks and drunken guitar hero battles haha. It was pretty fun. Christa
fell asleep on the couch, Ty fell asleep on the can lol, never thought
that was possible. Was up until around three or so, slept in until
eleven then went to work for one.
Watching Die Hard 1 before I head to work... love eighties wear and hair, but the movie still rocks. =)
As i mentioned, i have one more thing to report on but i have to wait another few days or so.
Until then, hope everyone had a good holiday and new years! | | |

I'm a hermit and PROUD of it!!
Yep, that's right. The only ops I have for ever coming online anymore
seem to be late evenings...and I'm only up right now because i have the
day off tomorrow and my inner night owl is really made at me for being
ignored for so long.lol.
As my subject title states, i have
declared myself a hermit, and i like it.lol. There's not enough time in
a day nor enough energy to fuel the time we have.haha. I've been very
good lately, go to work, work, come home from work, sleep and repeat.
throw in some eating and a day off full of tasks and laundry....and you
have my everyday grind!
Since the days are getting shorter for
good ol' winter, it seems all i do is drive either in the dark, or in
dawn/dusk. Pretty soon, it'll be that creepy only drive in the dark
days and I'll really feel like I'm losing my mind. I hate that time of
year...that and it means freak snow storms will maroon me in a hotel in
richmond...but that's fun..i like them. i'm weird lol.
I've got
so much flying around in my head i'm surprised I haven't just fizzed
out and sat in my own drool haha. (try and image that one!)...lets
see.....
~ hiring people at work is a constant job right now for
seasonal. Pulling people off the application system, sorting through
them, calling people in for first interviews, conducting first
interviews, calling them back for seconds with ryland and thomas,
calling them if we hire them and confirm them for the training sesson,
CONDUCT training session, put those people into our system AFTER doing
orientation....running the monthly touchbases...yep
~ House
preparations... notary hasn't called us back so I'm back to harassing
Dave to call her again. We only have a few weeks to get everything in
order and it seems like time is just flying by... Drafted a letter to
the strata council for a meet and greet and a talk about their move
in/out rules and all that stuff. decided we should book a carpet
cleaner sooner rather than later to make sure they'll get done after
the walls are finished...and yea, wash, fill, and paint the
walls...picking colours!! omg...so much, but SO excited. Oh, and I look
around at all this here and go "oh my god, i have to pack all this
up!?" yep....thank god we're moving slowly.
~ TAP! My talent
assessment is coming up the same day we get the keys for the house. I
have a mock interview over the phone with gail on thursday that i need
to prep for, but haven't started.lol. doh! On the first, i've got to
get snazzy, transit downtown, go through a few interviews with a few
gm's each, then transit back where dave will pick me up and we'll start
work on the place....i'm fighting with the regular nerves. I've been
through it before and know it's a big deal but nothing to be worried
about, but i'm still nervous of course.lol, what to wear, what to say..
~
Work in general picking up for the holiday shopping season. Last year
we handled it amazingly, Nothing compared to my first christmas/boxing
day experience. It's getting busier and a little bit more
stressful...but that's why we're hiring! to help with the lacking
coverage! hooray!
My day off tomorrow will, hopefully, consist of: - getting my car insurance renewed as it expires thursday! - moving some boxes from my current living room down to storage - prepping for my mock interview and assessment in november - having a nice dinner for the first time in a while with dave...somewhere - Laundry...laundry....laundry - Collecting garbage for garbage day....yay (we forgot it last week!) - Call notary myself if I have to...i hope i don't - Deliver letter to strata if i can find out how... -
get boxes from my dads and possibly....start packing up some stuff and
put those boxes in the spaces i've made by taking my boxes to storage
Notice
some sort of trend here? Not the stuff, the way i list? lol, i've
become the master of bullet notes and task lists...it's the only way i
can remember everything i need to do.lol, and now i just realized how
much shit i need to get done on my day off this week....ewww. then
start my six day streak before my next day off...crazy!
Lets
see..i could write about my bike and my thanksgiving weekend...but i
think i've bored people long enough! i also told myself I would go to
bed half an hour ago so i woudn't sleep the day away and accomplish
nothing....boo.
Thanks for reading Hermit Tales, by Me. lol

Good Cause Stuff! Hey guys,
Once
again, the time has come for me to ask you to part with a few dollars
of your hard earned cash to donate to one of two, or both, worthy
causes...the BC SPCA Paws for a Cause is September 9th, and the AIDS
Walk is coming up September 23rd.
I'd like to thank liz for being the FIRST person besides myself to donate, THANK YOU LIZ!
If
anyone is interested in either, please let me know one way or another.
Or you could just go online! I have an account wit the spcs under the
user name: MeganEvansON. You can donate there and even sign up to walk
if you have the day off!
i haven't opened a profile with AIDS
walk yet, but it will be under the same user name when i do. I'll let
you all know. Over a certain amount will warrant you a tax rebate form
to receive some of your donation back come tax time....and IT'S FOR A
GOOD CAUSE!! A few bucks would be appreciated, it doesn't have to be
much.
Thanks in advance to those going to donate after this...i'll mention you by name when it happens...please help out!

Update From Home! Hello All! Taking a late night opportunity to write a bit (or alot...we'll see how i ramble haha) about st johns!
St Johns:
So
after we arrived in the airport, we were met by my step brother, his
fiancee, and courtney's mom.... lets just say, she's aggravating..poor
mom got sucked into a conversation with the husband's ex hah. She drove
us to our hotel and dropped us there, apparently it was the bachelor
and bachelorette party going on george street (look it up guys, it's
famous for pretty much being nothing but bars).
The Battery
Hotel was a bit of a dissapointment....It looks way fancier on it's
website, it overcharges for the standard room that isn't well
upkept....yea. Dave and my room was on the second floor, pretty much
within climbing reach of the back roadway. There was at least a view of
the bay (which was smaller than i thought it would be). The room was
bright yellow one three walls, and light blue on one. There was a map
of newfoundland with big pic representations of stuff to see around the
province. Above that it said, "Nfld. Saying: You're face could stop a
clock".....yep...oh, and above the bed...was a picture of three old
fisherman guys, holding their catch! The guy in the middle, his fish
was being held as such, so that it's mouth was open....definately nice
and romantic to go with the view of the bay lol.
After dinner
from a horrid waitress, but good food, I was so tired i actually fell
asleep at 11pm their time...so...4:30 our time! Woke up the next
morning and we all met in the lobby. Dave, Cam, mom and I had planned
to walk around and take in the sites, so that's what we did. Stopping
at the timmys for breakfast of course haha.
We walked down the
two main streets by the water, saw a german tall ship that came into
dock that morning. While we were looking at it, a cute blonde girl came
over with a news camera and asked if she could as us a few questions
about the ship...as she's asking, cam and mom (on either said of dave
and I) are slowly shifting away out of site lol. Dave tried to do the
same as I was handed a piece of paper to help set up the lighting, but
he ran into my mom and they literally started pushing at one another to
try and get away lol. SO, dave and I were interviewed by NTV....didn't
get to see it though. Couldn't find it on the net either...oh well. I
just find it funny that to get on tv i ended up going across the
country haha.
Cam needed to pick up his brother from the
airport, so dave, mom and i took a cab to the avalon mall in a more
main part of the town. walked around, had lunch, then decided to walk
back...that was further than we thought, about half way there mom's
knee started to swell lol. We hailed a cab who already had a passenger,
but he picked her up anyway! I gotta say...i was so confused by the
people....out and about, most of them are really friendly,
helpful...but if they're working or something, they're really
disgruntled and rude....
Anyway, dave and i took multiple
detours through the waterfront neighbourhood, took some pics of some
nice stone churches and crazy multicoloured houses. We got back to the
hotel with a few horus or so to spare until we all met for dinner. So
about 30 minutes to relax in the room ( i was pretty pooped). Then dave
and i took another cab to the top of signal hill (where the first
trans-atlantic communication by morse code was ever received) for some
sight seeing.
Saw some whales breaching off the coastline,
watched the fog roll in as fast as it rolled out...the coast made my
day. it was by far the prettiest part of the place. We still had some
time to kill, so dave and i took a path down to the cliffs. from there
we walked all the way around the narrows and into the bay. we ended up
back in the town and had to walk back up the hill to the hotel lol. It
was crazy, i was proud of dave, there were some scary parts for people
afraid of heights. The path was right on the edge of the cliffs, one
part was so narrow, there was a chain attached on the rock wall to keep
people from falling...dave took a video of it so he wouldn't feel like
looking down haha.
By the time we got back, we had just enough
time to read a little, change, then head to the lobby where everyone
was waiting with cabs. We all met at the Keg on the waterfront for
dinner, Had good conversation, food, and wine lol, then while everyone
else took cabs back to the hotel, dave and I opted for more
walking...because we could...and because i noticed the HORRID sunburn
appearing outta nowhere on my upper body and face... On the way we
stopped at the local store *insert banjo music here!!* to get some
sunblock and vaseline (opted for cuz they didn't have aloe vera)....i
say banjo music...because there were two people behind the two tills in
the entire place....one was a 4 foot tall woman with bad teeth..and
face.lol. Sounded as scrunched up as she looked, not a nice personality
at all either. The second, was a tall lanky guy with buck teeth...i
called him cletus in my head...it was entertaining.lol.
I walked
sOOOOOO much! I haven't been able to walk around like that in a long
time. Dave and I used to do that a lot, so it was nice to get back to
it a little, see the town and it's tiny streets, weird talkin people,
and crazy houses. Lets just say, for the next three days, my calves
actually were sore! We aren't talkin flat walks here, major hills
everywhere lol.
As this has been LOTS of rambling....as i
expected....i'll update about the wedding later on today...as i
actually have the day off...and then start a seven day stint before i
head off to the lake for three days...yeap....my life, is work...
Thanks for readin, you must be bored...or karen, who's starved for any type of information of the real world haha.
Buh Bye!
P.S.
