| - Safest Place To Hide Today's key word is hubble. Edwin Hubble once propagated a relationship between redshifts and velocity while observing nebulae, concluding that the universe is expanding. And somewhere outside this world, the Hubble Space Telescope takes pictures of space and its natural occurances ... or unnatural ... as they may seem. Hubble also refers to a way of walking. Penguins hubble - If you're penguin ... you just shouldn't be reading this. Pregnant ladies and spunky, old people hubble. A hubbled walk consists of incredible weights and/or mad pains that disrupt one's usual walking style. That's the kind of walk I experienced all day today thanks to a never-to-be-repeated "think-I-can-run" yesterday morning.
As I hubbled through Walmart earlier, I searched far and vast for a personal fan that I could use in the very hot, steamy computer room - home to 6 computers in a small, vapid room. I came across Walmart's collection of heaters and air purifiers, but my hubbled search was a lost cause. I found an unlabeled associate who informed me that Walmart had temporarily ceased all restocking of cooling fan products since winter was approaching. This was done 6 weeks ago - 4 weeks prior to Rita; 2 weeks before long sleeved jackets and coats could be found in Walmart apparel; and 1 weeks into a typically hot, humid time-period in one of the hottest cities in the United States - which later turned into record-breaking scorching HOT. My surprise to find that Walmart truly does NOT carry everything (at least not in season - not even the correct season even).
On a related topic, the only thing I could find HOT in the entire vicinity of the store was the newly restocked games section featuring eye-candy: SceneIT TV Edition; as well as the unexpected re-release of Clueless. One of these days ...
| Whoo!!! I think the rest of the city is celebrating the near miss of the uninvited Hurricane Rita and no doubt wondering what this week has in store for: gas, groceries, food, and traffic.
What can we learn from this experience? The best selling products in all of Texas are not man-made: water, wood and oil
In hurricane-threatening emergencies, you must ALWAYS have: 1. tv 2. cellphone 3. internet connection 4. freezer 5. camera 6. air conditioning 7. electricity 8. Non-panic-stricken Asian parents to tell you that the typhoon won't be bad
Ranking Houston News The Antenna Experience (sadly, I cannot take credit for all of these thoughts):
Channel 2 - KPRC - Record for being broadcasted on most radio stations. - Most "seemingly" impatient newscaster: Bill Balleza (in account for his initial reaction to the 3 burning buildings in Galveston). - Hottest Houston female newscaster: Dominique Sachse.
Channel 8 - KTRH - Record for not broadcasting anything related to Hurricane Rita
Channel 11 - KHOU - Regarded as the most conservative news station in Houston. - Hottest overall news team (Greg, Lisa, Reggie). - Houston's most experienced Hurricane weather expert: Doctor Neil Frank (he directed the freaking Hurricane Center for 13+ years) - Tied with FOX26 for most tv station undertakings.
Channel 13 - KTRK - Most annoying newscasters - Marvin Zindler and Miya Shay (and her annoying accent slips) - Houston's least hottest news team ... maybe they're really all about news? I dunno ... didn't really watch.
Channel 20 - UPN - Most unexpected undertaking from FOX26-News. - Best signal for FOX26-News.
Channel 26 - FOX - Assumed the longest control over subject material presented on a different station (UPN-20) - Hottest Weatherman - Mario ?something? - Houston's worst tv news station online homepage: http://www.fox26.com (for real)
Channel 39 - WB - Only station that did not eliminate broadcasting of normal running tv shows and commercials. - Only news station that ran commercials during all news broadcasts.
Channel 51 - KNWS - Only station to broadcast periodic tv shows and news from another station (KHOU-11) while also attending to own broadcast material. - Voted as station with worst reception in Houston when using antenna.
What's your input? Maybe I'll re-edit and post it.

| I'm living the life of a double agent ...
Not so ... comparably busy though with two hazardous occupations. Thus the reason my xanga entries materialize at an exceptional rate (yes ... thank you, thank you).
I have begun a new life ... since my last entry. I'm living the lie ... a production artist for an advertising agent. Everyday I go to work and realize just how clueless I am on graphic design and placement. My idea of a good sales pitch is a product that sells for itself. Thank God that I have my constant dosage of humility.
I've been a bit dodgy with my other job ... you know .. the glitzy nights, the passing under the table, the singing, and the calling. SIGH ... the calling ... if I had a nickel for every pansy answering machine I've aquainted myself with, I would not have to convince myself to consider lottery tickets (consider ... my dear ... consider). My only reason for staying? My affair with theatrical power nights and with Houston's best landmark "the Theatre District." I'm one seduction shy from becoming a phantom. q;
| Yeh ... yeh ... I couldn't help trying it ...
| Your Love Number is |
3 You're confident and charming, which makes you able to keep your relationships fresh. A true perfectionist, you give your all (and then some!) to your sweetie. Honest, funny, and kind... you are the ideal lover for many. Just don't let your jealousy get the best of you! |

| - Think of Me I KNow ... i know ... it's been forEVER since I've xanga'd ... but basically there's nothing to write about. Well ... I did get a nice commissionary job at the Houston Grand Opera ... but I won't be happy about telling people about it until maybe ... 2 years later ... when I'm promoted or something. q;
For the past month now, I have been listening to nothing except Phantom of the Opera. I think I'm making everyone around me sick for constantly putting the album (which I've burned five separate times) on repeat. I have some WEIRD obsession with the music ... I dunno. It's fun to listen to (and more fun to sing along to). I'm trying to learn how to play Think of Me by ear, cause the sheet music is so hard to find and download (free).
Of course ... to be the true critic on the POTO 2004 soundtrack, I would harshly judge Gerard Butler's (the Phantom) droopy and sometimes nasal notes (think Apu in that Quik-E-Mart song). I would also find Emmy Rossum's high notes a bit ... flighty (you're right "oink?u"). And Raoul's voice is a little too plain (though MUCH better than the original musical Raoul) ... though I truly LOVE his voice the most. But overall ... I just can't seem to stop listening to the music.
This is a new record (of listening) for me because the last time I was ever so thoroughly intrigued with a soundtrack ... or album even ... was Evita, and only for three weeks. Can you imagine how excited I was to find out that the music was also arranged by Weber?! That dude is my idol mang!
Other than that discovery ... I've been up to no good ... although I did read up on the story of Phantom of the Opera ... I can't believe that book, along with Emma, P&P, Anna Karenina, all these classic books are available via internet for free (thanks to Bibliomania).
Ok, enough rambling for now. A big THANKS to everyone who made it out to my patio partay! Pics are up in snapfish!
