Here's a picture for all my peeps. It's a blackhawk about 80 feet above our heads before it picked us up.Yes, I am alive.... I'm doing okay. I can't wait to get home!!!

Friend or Foe?

Here's something I was thinking about the other day. The other day, we had a guy that was coming in to work for us. It was his second day. He was a foriegn national and he said that he and his kids were poor and needed the work. His first day comprised of direction and where to go from his boss. He should've known what to do, however, he ended up wandering off into a Restricted Area on camp... *sigh*... big no no... He ended up being fired and kicked out of camp that day after qestioning. I feel bad for the guy... and his kids, however I do wonder what he was up too. He ended up going right too the restricted area.... did he know it was there?? was he looking for it?? did he have other motives.?? ....this is the problem we face alot... always in the back of a soldiers mind. Friend or Foe?? The enemy doesn't wear uniforms.... they do walk among us alot of the time. I hate to think like that because i want to trust and understand them. Soldiers do not always have that luxury.... but we try. Take care all, I will write more sometime. Love you all.... *bow*

Fallen Soldier

I apologize, for it has been a while since my last post. Recently, we have been on a communication ban or "black out". A couple of days ago, we lost one of our own.... One of our guys was shot and later died of his wounds. His name was Plowman. I knew him....He was a good guy. Only 19 years old... it shouldn't have happened... He was shot in the back. I was running a gun truck as a QRF (Quick Reaction Force) that night. My truck responded and helped get him to the LZ to be medevaced via helicopter. I don't feel like posting details... i ask that you all pray for him and his family.  the look on his face at the landing pad is burned into the back of my head.... it shouldn't have happened like that... It shouldn't have happened to him....

Chill'n out in the desert!!!...temperature: 125 degrees (so far). I'm doing okay though. I hope everyone is doing good back home. I'm still alive. I've been reading about this new body suit that the gunners in the gun trucks (like in the picture) wear. It's fully sealed and is pretty much what the bomb squad and EOD uses, although they are working on fixing a few problems with it. It's climate controlled with an A/C suit... cool huh!!?! I've heard, it's still about 120 degrees in the suit IF the A/C is working..... This is a short post but I'll have more to post later. Take care everyone... I love you all.... *bow*
