  • Okay, I think a year and eight months (plus some more) is too much time!

Yeah.  i took way too long getting back to this thing!

i have spent the last several months in Arizona, and i am now getting ready to head on to Texas for a few weeks.  All for God.

i also never updated this thing three months and one day ago, like i should have.  July 30 was the day that my first book of poetry was published by PublishAmerica.com!  simple words for God from a simple man of God by daniel m klem.  Available at all major online book stores (as far as i know it is not yet in actual store buildings, but who cares?!)

Oh.  Last time i updated, i was relatively newly engaged, too.  that ended, and it is a long story.  But God is doing amazing things for both of us, and we are still friends!  Praise His Name, right?  i think so.

    That is it for now!

  • Yerp ...

I realized very recently that a) I have not updated in over two months, and b) most people who read this do not know my news.

On Christmas Eve (that being the twenty-fourth (24) of December) of last year (that being 2005), I proposed to my then girlfriend of two years, four months, four days, eleven hours and fifty-five minutes.  Now, Crystal (that being the one I asked to marry me) is my fiance of one month, three-and-a-half weeks-ish (for those of you that may have gotten irked at the exactness of my counts).

Also, just a week and a half before having worked at Dollar Tree for three years, I quit and now work for The Digital Store selling Dish Network (even though my family uses and loves DirecTV) and Verizon Wireless (even though we all use Cingular).

That is about all for now.

    LOVE!

    God bless,

    Dan

This week's promise: God has great rewards for those who remain faithul

    What will your life accomplish?

You have decided the length of our lives. You know how many months we will live and we are not given a minute longer.

    Job 14:5 NLT

    Miracle Baby

John and Betty Stam met at Moody Bible Institute while both were studying to become missionaries to China. After going there separately under the China Inland Mission (CIM), they were unexpectedly reunited and a year later were married. In September 1934, their daughter, Helen, was born. Their lives were suddenly changed on December 6, 1934, when communist soldiers arrested the Stams.

The Stams were forced to make a difficult march to the town of Miao-shou. They were horrified to hear the soldiers discuss plans to murder their baby to make the trip easier. An old farmer stepped forward to object. Little Helen was spared when the man agreed to take her place—and was shot on the spot.

Arriving in Miao-shou, Helen was taken from them. Marched to a place of execution, a local Christian doctor begged for their lives. He was condemned to die and John begged for mercy for the doctor. John, Betty, and the doctor were all beheaded.

Helen was found by a Chinese evangelist named Lo who, at great risk, was able to bring her to her grandparents in Tsinan. The news of the "Miracle Baby" and her parents' martyrdom spread around the world. Hundreds pledged their lives to missionary service. A fellow missionary wrote "A life which had the longest span of years might not have been able to do one-hundredth of the work for Christ which they have done in a day."
