General Criminal Minds Rants

Funny how when someone else rants about something I never noticed before, I suddenly start seeing signs everywhere.  Like someone mentioned people quoting directly from Wikipedia when they want to make Reid sound smart.  It doesn't.  First, Reid would likely get his info from other sources, and he'd know his facts enough to be able to use his own wording.  Sure, sometimes he quotes things he's read, but not all the time.  And, certainly not in long blocks of uninterrupted dialogue.  The writers aren't as smart as Reid (obviously - take that anyway you want) and need to go to Wikipedia to find the info, but after you get it, try paraphrasing.  You can still credit, but it would make Reid sound more human and not like a plagiarizer.

I suppose anything is possible, but as far as I'm concerned, Frank is dead.  D-E-A-D.  And, I seriously doubt the writers were thinking that Gideon's retirement couldn't be made public because Frank would find out.  First, because he's dead, and second, in the extremely unlikely event that he isn't, they weren't thinking of Frank at all.  Why?  Because they were trying to wrap up Gideon's stories, not extend them.  Give him a reason to leave, acknowledge the ripples in the team, and then say, "adios, don't let the door hit you too hard on the way out."  Even if Gideon was still there, bringing Frank back a third time would be ultimately cheesy, but  with him gone, there's no reason.  He was Gideon's nemesis, not the BAU.

And, on to Rossi.  First, being a hired assassin doesn't mean you can't fight in hand to hand combat.  Remember Vincent Perotta, who beat up Hotch (who, as an FBI agent, would also have had hand to hand training).  So, it's conceivable that Jack Vaughn can fight and can fight better than Rossi.  So, I'll just stick to my pretty picture of Rossi getting the crap beat out of him and only being saved because Morgan noticed a gun.

And, I just love how Rossi does nothing wrong or has a 100% solid excuse for everything.  He snaps at someone and gets them violent?  It's all strategy.  Rossi can't possibly be a little impatient, can he?  And, any extra examples don't prove anything either.  Oh, and Rossi doesn't mention the fake evidence?  Oh, poor thing.  He just didn't have time, you see.  Even though never once was a scene shown with Hotch or Rossi interviewing people that had come in because of the press conference, which is the excuse used - that everyone was too busy.  Oh, and what about right after Rossi left the bar?  Oh, I know!  He didn't want to disturb Hotch's beauty sleep.  But, don't worry.  Rossi isn't perfect!  No, there's no Mary Sue about him.  Because, way back in his salad days (if I'm using the term correctly) he put himself first above the victims.  Isn't that great?  Of course, now he's perfectly learned his lesson.  Which puts him head and shoulders above everyone else on the team, who still show flaws and are still growing.  But, since he used to have flaws, that means he's  not annoyingly perfect.  (Note, I don't think he doesn't have flaws, but some appear to)  Oh, wait.  He used to not know how to work with a team, so there's another flaw.  Doesn't matter that he learned that lesson pretty fast.

And, if Rossi turning a legitimate reprimand into a "lets talk about a completely unrelated situation with you and pretend that you have no right to reprimand me, even if you're my boss" is gracious for him, than I still say, he's not gracious at all.  Someone sticking me with pins may be nice for them, but it doesn't make it nice.
