Hard to Believe: The High Cost and Infinite Value of Following Jesus
By John MacArthur
see related

"Therefore by the deeds of the law no flesh will be justified in His sight." Rom 3:20

If scripture is true (which it is whether you believe it or not), the law came into existence through Moses to show me and everyone else that we are in need of a Savior. Paul also says that the law came in order to stop our mouths from any claim to righteousness and to render the whole world guilty before God.

I am sick of the fake gospel. The one that is popular and says God wants me to be healthy, wealthy, and never have any pain. That is complete bull! If God has ordained something to pass then it WILL happen. Jesus did not come to make me feel good about myself.

Jesus said in Luke 14:26, "If anyone comes to Me (meaning those who wanted to be His true followers) and does not hate his father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters, yes, and his own life also, he cannot be My disciple.

Christianity is not about us! It is not about our self-esteem, health, wealth, and happiness. It is about us becoming sick of sin and absolutely desperate for forgiveness.

"Being crucified was a degrading insult and the idea of worshipping someone who has been crucified is absolutely unimaginable." John MacArthur

I will boldly say to anyone that my hope is placed in a man who was cursed. "He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf that we might become the righteousness of God in Him." 2 Cor. 5:21

Some of my friends have informed me that xanga is dying so i have decided to do what i can to save it. Well i cant do much. All i can do is to update my own. Hey thats kinda like my Christian life... i cant worry about everyone else... just my own. HAHA! I am kidding but seriously. Last night i had a good chance to sit down with some friends and talk about Christianity. We talked about different views and really got to challange each other in new ways of thinking. At this point i kinda have a basis for what i believe and why. However i am not done learning. When you are in Theology (the study of God), that is one area that no one can be an expert in. HE IS TOO BIG! Me and a friend sat outside and looked at the stars one night and picked out one of our own. It just reminds me how big he is. As soon as i put God in a box i do the one thing my theological view tries to prevent... i limit him. So getting God out of my box is always good. I am really looking forward to this school year. I am ready to see God move. Well duty calls... DEUCE!

Wow this summer is already crazy... i am so tired. So when i got back from Southeast Asia, my plan was to get with Billy Cash and work on worship orders for Super Summer. I went in on monday to work on them and he told me the computer was gone.. well it never showed up. So we spent monday - wednesday just typing up words and chords to songs. It came time for me to head back to B-wood on thursday and i had nothing done in powerpoint for super summer. So friday i spent a lot of my time doing powerpoint stuff and packing up sound equipment. Saturday we left for Abeline and went to that evil place called Hardin-Simmons University. Billy blessed me when he got there because he got someone at home to type out all the powerpoint songs for him and he had them on cd. I was so incredibly relieved. Well to put it short... the week was da bomb! The Lord used John Randalls to affirm what i learned in Asia and then challenged me to put it into practice. Jeff Johnson and the band did amazing. Yellow school got SUPER COOL SUPER SCHOOL!!!! Only draw back is, i borrowed Tim's iPod and one day it came up missing/stolen! It never came up again. What is it with everything getting stolen?! Well we got back from Abeline at about 4:00 or so. Zac and Shandra's rehersal dinner was at 6:00 so i had time to go home, put my stuff down, change and be back up at the church. I had the honor of playing the guitar in there wedding as the parents and grandparents were seated and as shandra walked down the aisle. She was beautiful. Zac is a lucky guy. The rehersal was okay but the wedding on the other hand was really hard for me. Zac and Shandra were my go to guy and girl. I will miss them alot. I dont even know the next time i will see them. Okay sad moments lets move along... Sunday was the share time for the Asia trip so i got to share with the church body what i experienced and i was lucky on that Father's day to spend it with my Dad. Him and my mom came to visit me. I may not see them for a while either...hmm all these sad moments. Well i said all of the above to say this..."I AM SO TIRED!!"
