| Not feeling great today. I guess it is a good day to be sick though since I don't have anything I have to do. Anyone know anything good? | | |
| There Will Be Blood is a badass movie. It is slow but definitely worth it. I just saw the end of it this time but I highly recommend. Juno was really good again. It wasn't that long ago I watched it the first time. The ole couch is calling me. Night. | | |
| Edgefest rocked. Disturbed was the shit, only the second of my Top 5 bands I have gotten to see so far. Kid Rock put on a hell of a show too. Saliva and Five Finger Death Punch were both badass. I was somewhat disappointed in Sevendust. Their music just overpowered their vocals. They were ok but definitely the bottom of the ones we saw that day. Right up there with the awesome music was the awesome girl I got to spend that day with. Thank you for going with me Jana, you really made it a great day :). | | |
| They say when you have nothing... you have nothing to lose.I'm thinking about trying it. Edit: I've gotten off to a great start on it too. | | |
| OK, so heavy metal always gets blamed when someone who listens to it kills someone or does some other terrible act. That is bullshit of course, but it should be noted that country music is by no means innocent... There are probably many examples of it but Before He Cheats promotes revenge and vandalism. Family Tradition portrays substance abuse and hereditary alcoholism in a very flippant way. The Devil Went Down to Georgia is probably the most sacrilegious song ever written. Even if the idea of a former archangel being bested by a mere mortal isn't offensive enough... Johnny calls the Devil a "son of a bitch". Presumably the only being that predated the archangels was God himself and therefore Johnny's reference to a parent of the Devil could only mean Him. Disclaimer: I am pro-revenge. I don't think alcoholism is hereditary. I am an atheist... I just wanted to present a counterpoint to all the mudslinging that goes on about metal. | | |
