Getting out of comfort zone

My friend from Canada, Limin, whom just graduated on psychology (she did help me alot during my dark days) called a while ago and I don't know what we blabbered about, some stuffs, religious things and about phobias and comfort zone.

She was talking about a camp she went to... (ok privacy) But the gist of it is stepping out of your comfort zone. Doing something you never tried or did not try to because of phobia/fear. And after being able to achieve it, you'll step out of your comfort zone and your comfort zone expands. And that fear will be lessened, or even in your new comfort zone.

Something like this:
comfort zone 1

Thanks Limin

I'll try to overcome my phobia of marriage =X

Sister birthday was a small celebration. But she was damn happy with her ice cream cake, presents and letter of offer to be signed from TJC. Brilliant timing, I must say. Pictures in next post!

My own birthday's coming up soon too, and cheers to myself for a year of transcending from a normal to a possible 'different' person. A person whom, without medication lives in a world of solemn misery, on anti depressants/anti-psychotic drugs and sleeping pills.

Without any medical help, I go for days without sleep for no reason and engage in deemed as addictive behavior (not related to tobacco and alcohol). Actually, being able to go without sleep for days in rows is good. There's so many things that can be done.

So my coming 21st birthday in Aug, cheers to myself for at least not landing up in the psychiatric ward for a prolonged stay. More years of aging, boredom, useless living and love that comes with a price?

Come on, stop kidding yourself. Love in Singapore or the world HAS A PRICE TAG! Oh, and wishing to have this that house, this that car?

For girls would you marry a guy who can't give you financial stability? Looking all ruffled, beggerish? Who can't afford to even feed himself but have a heart of gold?
For guys, would you marry an enormous girl who isn't articulate, who looks like shit, non-educated but has a good heart?

Of course if you're rich you might not mind. (Then, Love already comes with a price tag because that is IF you are rich.)

Dating is fun, head spinning, light hearted then comes the doom of marriage where you can even make a molehill out of a toilet bowl cover.

Bah. I can't fathom why people want to get married. Bye to privacy, hello to incessant quarrels albeit the 'kiss and make up' quote. Why the trouble?

Anyway! Batman tml! FINALLY!

Happy Birthday to my Sister!

Hehe :P Time flies she's 14 already. It seems just so near yet so far that I saw her grinning away on her 4th or 5th birthday.

A quote from the Little Prince which I think most people can register (especially in the money driven world):
If you were to mention to grown ups: 'I've seen a beautiful house built with pink bricks, with geraniums on the windowsills and doves on the roof...' they would not be able to image such a house. You would have to say to them: 'I saw a house worth a hundred thousand pounds.' Then they would exclaim: 'Oh! How lovely.'

It makes sense, argue my point. Tell me of a person who hasn't viewed money one of the top most important thing in life - though I know of one guy like this but he's off exploring the world with just a couple of hundreds. Living in such a world makes me feel like why are we simply fighting for material gain? What's the stupid point in living in a money driven world when all you get is well - money? Albeit useful for pleasures in life but what's the point hankering after all these? I'm guilty of this too.

Anyhows, been eventful lately, broke and all, new meds are working well - for now.

Mind's cafe with Mh and Ht on Tues night! Damn fun la Meet up soon soon! Then scooted off to supper with Nubcake. He says I look better with fringe and chubby face from my past face and pictures =/

I'm through with a few books again, 2 which are crappy and simply not worth mentioning; I'm gonna sell to 2nd hand bookstore and 2 of which I love:
Littleprince

The Little Prince by Antoine De Saint-Exupery (as described on one level it's the story of an airman's discovery in the desert of a small boy from another planet while on the other hand a thought-provoking allegory of the human condition.)

exuberance
and Exuberance by Prof. Kay Redfield Jamison (my all time fav author this year). Am halfway through Exuberance actually.

As described by her, Exuberance is Joy's more energetic relation; not happiness but it shares a border. Am in the midst of reading love/erotic poetry too.

Library book fair at the Expo this weekend!

galahad at blandings

I love this book tons for it's subtle humor and sarcasm under wraps! It's the book that my psychologist gave to me and it's damn hilarious :P

Neway, frequent awakenings every hour or so are the bane of my existence. I'm always jolted up from sleepland - a realm where good things always happen - for reasons unknown.

Let's see hmm...I've to see both my psychiatrist and psychologist in a few hours time. Thank goodness for that. Time to get more stuff to make me sleep.

Sister birthday's coming up! She doesn't seem to want anything and I'm unsure of what I should get her. Oh noes!

Someone imposed a question on me recently: Would I forsake ethics for personal gain in future?

Yes I would, I would.
