| | So I was playing badminton yesterday and I thought to myself, "is this really what the ultimate meaning to life is? Volleying a shuttlecock back and forth for one and a half hours?" One could say that yes, it is the ultimate bliss, just tossing something back and forth, constantly alternating much like people do, or no, it is just a trivial activity to move your body around for a short duration of time. However, I opt to think of volleying shuttlecocks as something within itself; it is the elegant grace of rising and falling, alternating at different speeds, being adjusted at the will of the person hitting it, and I apply it to my life. My life is a shuttlecock. I choose where it will go, where it will rise, and where it will fall. However, there are times when I will just lose my control and it will fall completely, but likewise there are times when I am in the zone and I can move it any way I want that's useful. I guess that the racket is my mind, and that my body is well, my body. That is all for crazy metaphors today; catch you later. |
