today i walked

through town

i met a bum

who leaned

on the corner

his faded shirt said

D.A.R.E.

he offered me a dime bag

.

further on

i met

the mayor

who chattered ceaselessly

on his flip phone

i asked him why

my tax is so high

he replied,

"I've no time

to talk."

.

near my destination

the river

i crossed

Halted

by a native.

he asked that my shoes

be removed

for his country i

had tarnished.

For Alberta

Sorrow runs rampant, tears abound.
Soon you'll be lowered in the ground
To dwell in deep eternal sleep.

We do not weep for you my friend.
Now that you've met untimely end
It is for ourselves we weep.

Whenever we should think of Love
You're missed, and when lylacs bloom.
There seems a void within the room,
Now that you're dwelling up above.

With the gentleness of a faun
You passed. Like a bird's twitter.
Without you life is more bitter
For some of its sweetness is gone.

"But as the mountian falls and crumbles away,

And as a rock is moved from its place;

As water wears away stones,

And as torrents wash away the soil of the earth;

So You destroy the hope of man."

"Naked I came from my mothers womb,

And naked I shall return to the earth.

The Lord has gave, and the Lord has taken away;

Blessed be the name of the Lord."

Womanfruit

Imagine, if you will, being a man stranded on a tropical island far from any civilized place. One fruit bearing tree is plentiful about the island and the year-round crop provides your only food source. We'll call this the womanfruit. The fruit is complete in it's ability to sustain life as it is a wonderful source of all essential nutrients and tastes better than anything you've ever eaten before.  However, about 4 out of 5 times you eat this fruit, you will be stricken with awful diarrhea.

This to me illustrates the way that the whole man and woman thing seems to work.  Men are stranded on the island, they require the womenfruit to survive.  Not only do they require it, but they love having it because it is the best they've ever had, but nothing comes without a price and they are more often than not left in pain.  No one forces them men to eat the fruit, they could choose not to, but to do so would be certain slow and painful death.  The womanfruit on the otherhand requires nothing of the man on the island.  Sure, his droppings spread the seeds around the island, but without him there they would still spread in other natural ways.  The womanfruit's existence consists of sunning and being tasty wether or not it gets eaten by the man on the island is of no concern.

Thats all I've got tonight, hate it if you like, love it if you want, but let me know what you think.
