Have you guys heard about "O, The Oprah Religion"?

As Oscar Wilde said, "The only thing worse than being talked about is NOT being talked about. And I don't like those curtains."  Or something like that.  Anyway, I'm excited to find that I'm being talked about by a group of English As A Second Language Catholics in this message board thread.  It seems that the only people who take O, The Oprah Religion seriously are Christians who find it heretical.  The supposed liberal elite scum - the ones the Christians think would be first in line to worship Oprah - seem to be under the impression that I am pulling their leg.  I'm not sure if Alanis Morisette would say so, but I just think that's really ironic.

That is all.

OMG these people are supposed to be "religious", what happened to judge not yest ye be judged.  Even putting aside that they are misinterpreting your religion as well as the thing Oprah actually said, they are crazy. The one guy said she should still be a beaten slave!  I don't care if you believe in Jesus or Oprah or Allah or some random tree, but how do you claim the high morale crowd while endorsing slavery.

Also humorous is that they are apparently under the impression that Oprah would announce her new religion on a Xanga blog rather than Oprah.com.

You gotta admire a Christian who feels comfortable enough to put out on the internet:

it would have been better had she remained a beaten neo-slave than this demi-god that she is right now who will lure the ill-instructed into believing her lies.

"you see people? this is the poison that popular democracy feeds to the ignorant."

Oh man. I don't even know where to start on that one!

I think it's funny that the only person on that message board saying "Hey guys, I don't think we're supposed to take this seriously" looks like she's 12 (from her profile picture anyway).

What are they doing on the Internet? Don't they have an abortion clinic to bomb?

Oh, and candymag.com ISN'T A PORN SITE? who dropped the ball on that one?

It's still funny. Scary, but funny. I think you are tougher than I imagine. When the Asian Christian children dogpile you in the streets of Manhattan one night, I see you picking off at least 5 of them with your kung fu before being overwraught and shredded to pieces. Reese's pieces to be exact.
