The Face of a Winner
Fantasia cried, Diana cried, Kelly Clarkson cried, Everyone in the Kodak Theater cried, I cried at home.
What an awesome finish to a very long drawn out and at times boring and mediocre Season 3 of American Idol.
I'm so glad she won. | | |
| Borrowed from AIFanatic:
20 QUESTION IDOL SURVEY
1. Justin Guarini or Clay Aiken?
Clay
2. Kelly Clarkson or Ruben Studdard? Kelly
3. Season 1 or Season 2 or Season 3? Season 2
4. Tamyra Gray or Latoya London?
Tamyra
5. Fav. Judge (Why)?
Simon because he's right
6. If you had a chance to pick the IDOL in Season 2, who would you pick and why?
Clay because he had it all.
7.
Out of all the top 10's from each season pick your own:
In no particular order: Kelly, Justin, Clay, Kimberly Locke, Ruben,
Jennifer Hudson, Fantasia, George..... and ummm Ryan Starr (She's the
one that got me watching this silly show to begin with)
8. If you had to pick the winner of this American Idol,
(this year), who would you pick and why?
Fantasia because she's just a really great natural performer.
9. Favorite Idol Meledy? They all make me cringe just at the very thought.
10.
Kelly, Ruben, Clay, Justin, Kim Locke, RJ Helton, or Tamyra Gray's
cd? Kelly
11. Who should have won season 1?
Kelly
12. Who is you all time favorite Idol and why?
Clay. Who thought he would become a superstar when he walked into that first audition?
18. American Idol rigged or not?
Not rigged. Flawed. Cause people vote for their favorite. Not the one
who did best. But then people are people, not judges. So perhaps it's
not so flawed afterall.
19. Are you and addict?
Absolutely.
20. Life better with or without Idol?
With....... I iron during the performance show. I am much less wrinkly during the season.

| So here's my commentary on the show
Disappointing..... All around...
I
went into this all with much less enthusiasm than the other 2 finals. I
thought it was because the contestants *I* liked were gone already, but
now that it's over I know that it's because it was all just a lot less
exciting.
For starters, I was hoping to see the other 10
contestants back... Maybe that's tomorrow for filler..... Sure that's
the way it works... What was I thinking?
But my #1 complaint is WHY DIDN'T THEY DO NEW SONGS?????
Ugh.
That sucked. I mean yeah they sang those songs great once before. It's
nearly impossible to recreate a moment... Both of them were nearly
guaranteed to be not as good as the first time. And I was bored. Bored,
Bored, Bored. Even hearing Fantasia doing Summertime.... again...
boring.
They should have done new stuff and knocked our socks
off. Instead they did songs we already saw them do only without the
magic of the first time when we didn't know what to expect and they
were so awesome.
boo.
I liked both girls versions of
that Tamyra song. In fact I actually think that somehow it was exactly
right on both of them even though they have such different styles.
Woulda
been nice if they'd sang something else. Given them a challenge. Made
them do something unexpected. So I could watch something I hadn't
already seen.
Oh how easily bored the American public becomes.
So
I went into this knowing the outcome doesn't matter anyway, The phone
lines are guaranteed to be so jammed up that the only thing they'll be
measuring is the capacity of the phone lines, and that AI3 was a lot
more boring that AI1 or AI2.
Why? Because so few of them changed
very much. No one save maybe Diana made any sort of transformation into
a star like Kelly, Clay, Ruben, Kimberly Locke..... They just were what
they were. They sang, they got voted off. Boring.
No one was
particularly likeable or unlikeable. And no one hit it out of the park
every week....... Like Kelly... Clay.... Ruben.... where every single
time you saw them perform you were amazed at how great they are.
Diana
made the transformation we like to see. Fantasia performed really great
nearly always. But the thing that made AI3 boring is that no one
contestant did both these things.
If they had told us ahead of
time there would be 4 hours and 3 phone lines for voting that might
have made a difference. I might have gotten more excited for the finals
if I had known my vote actually counted. I couldn't get through even
once last week.
I did a lot of voting tonight, but I couldn't do
it for the full 4 hours. Excuse me for having a life..... So if
Fantasia loses its because I had somewhere to be at 11:45pm.
I
think Fantasia should win. If for no other reason than Diana totally
screwed up that one song... yeeeesh..... this is the top 2!! That's a
mistake that should cost her if you ask me.
Will it? Who the hell can tell? If you ask me there's no question that Fantasia should be
the winner. But the boys at the bar were all saying Diana. Then again
they weren't voting cause our cellphones weren't working inside the
building.
All we can do is wait and see what happens tomorrow. Not that it matters. And hope that AI4 isn't such a dud.

Go Fantasia!
The American Idol 3 Finals are on tonight. Fantasia v. Diana.
I
was beside myself with excitement over Kelly v. Justin, and I spent the
entire day worrying about whether it'll be Clay or Ruben, but the fact
is that as much as I love watching this show I could care less who wins
this one.
Jennifer Hudson and George Huff are long gone. I'm
looking forward to seeing them perform again tonight on the show, but
when it comes down to Fantasia v. Diana.....
It doesn't matter.
Now
that we've seen Clay(2) outsell Ruben(1) and Tamyra(4) and Christina(6)
get the big push while Justin(2) gets forgotten and no one talks about
Nikki(3) anymore...
I'm watching tonight, but the show's lost its spark for me now that I know that nothing that happens matters at all.
