Second Semester

Alright...it's about time for an update.... for those of you that read this.

Well, I'm finally done my first semester of grade 12! This means no more Chemistry or Math!!! That was a relief...Chem is my worst subject and i'm glad to be done. Now, I just have to get through biochemistry and I'll be good.  I'm also enjoying my spares this semester. They are right before lunch so they are at the time of day I enjoy the most- when the sun is bright and I can relax. It's nice to have that extra hour to get things done that don't get done at other times of the day.

Getting through grade 12 also means looking forward to graduation which I definitely am at this moment! I've been designing my grad dress, because I can't seem to find one that I like (they really all are neon colours with crazy sparkles!) but I'm excited for how it will turn out. I'm also thinking about next year and what God has in store for me...I'm actually looking at Steinbach Bible College in Manitoba- don't ask me why because I'm not even sure myself! I think a lot of it is because it is supposedly much like Bethany and I really like the atmosphere at Bethany. But, it's also away from home which is something I want to do- get away! Not because I don't like Hepburn because I do, but I feel like I need to get out of this little bubble and put myself in a new situation. Anyways, my mom and I are flying out in March to check the school out...hopefully I'll like what I find!

I guess this update won't be a very long one because I'm not sure what else to say..but if you do happen to read this, leave a comment!

Venturing out and surviving the Blizzard of 2007...me and my sister were on our way to youth ^

So, Christmas is coming closer and closer...and i'm getting super excited! It wasn't until a few days ago that I actually clued in that Christmas was almost here! So for those that actually read this, I just thought i'd leave a little update. My December has been filled to the brim with events after events. Our school dance happened near the beginning of December which was a lot of fun- I hope it's not the last dance of the year. Then there was Kayleigh's Christmas party which is always super fun. There was a lot of food, friends and definitely laughter. Oh and a lot of pictures- I'll see if I can get some on here. On Monday, December 18th, we had our drama club production- "Little Women". We've been working on it since the beginning of the year so I was hoping it would go well, and I think it did! I played Meg- the oldest sister which meant a lot of lines, and although I forgot a few lines during the performance, I think I did ok. And then, this past week have been the youth Christmas banquets which are another thing I look forward to every year- it gives me an excuse to dress up! So, I guess that's what has been keeping me busy this December...comment if you can!IMG_0974

Me, Amanda, Jan and Kayleigh- we're pretty tight, basically like in the sisterhood of the travelling pants! (this was at kayleigh's party)

I basically haven't updated in a super long time, so I thought i might let whoever reads this know what's going on in my life right now...Near the end of October I went to Fresno as a part of Ministry Quest! It was awesome and i loved it. I met so many new people, which are now new friends- really amazing friends I might add. The whole experience was just great...Though we had an interesting time getting down there. When we got to Calgary (we meaning me, amanda, mike and tori-both from saskatoon) we found out our flight to Denver was cancelled. So we waited around for a while..and got put on standby on a flight to L.A. Well, we waited for a few hours not even knowing if we would get on the flight.. and the flight ended up being completely booked. So we were escorted through security and put on a flight to Salt Lake City. We finally got on our flight, but once we got to Salt Lake City, we found out we had to wait for 5 hours in the airport.. After fun times on the escalator and extremely greasy pizza, we made our flight and landed in Fresno at around 9:30 p.m. It was an adventure for sure, but a fun adventure! I would tell more about the trip, but that might end up taking a while and i'm not even sure who reads this anymore. Anyways, if you happen to read this, be sure to leave a comment!

Monday, September 04, 2006

Well, It's been a while. I doubt anyone even reads this thing anymore, but I'll update anyway (not that there's much to update on!) I've just been enjoying the last, warm days of summer. On Monday, me, mom, Kristen, Hannah, Steph and Auntie Mardell drove 5 fairly short hours to Edmonton for a shopping extravoganza! We arrived at the Fantasyland Hotel in West Edmonton Mall at about 3:30 and started shopping right away. I never realized how big that mall is and as much as I like shopping, it made me think about how commercialized it is too. I mean there is wasted space in that mall by having doubles of stores (one on each floor). It's insane, really. But I did like going to some of the stores that we don't have here in Saskatoon (like XXI forever and Jacob Connexion) And it's also really nice that Alberta has far less tax than we do here! So, in the evening, the mall closed and we headed up to our hotel room where everything became extremely funny and Auntie Mardell started, in Hannah's words, dying...we were all laughing so hard we were crying. Oh the joys of shopping with a group of girls! In the morning we did a little more shopping and then went to Ikea for lunch and more shopping! Steph needed things for her dorm room since she's starting at Bethany on Saturday. Then we headed back home again. It was short, but a good trip- a lot of fun!

One more thing I could talk about is that school starts up tomorrow again. People always ask "Are you excited to be in grade 12 this year?" But really it's not the going into grade 12 that's all that different. It's the graduating part that's really weird to think about and going off to college. Right now I have no idea where I'm going to go, or where God is leading me. I think I would like to go to Bible College for a year, at least and then see from there. If you were to ask me what I want to do for a career, I couldn't really answer that other than to say something to do with design or creativity. It could be anything from fashion design to magazine layout designer to interior design, I'm really not sure. Anyways enough of my ramblings, considering not many people are going to be reading this! And if you do happen to read this, leave a comment so I know who is actually reading it!

Oh and here are some pictures, as of late. In August, we went camping while deanne was out. I can't say I completely enjoyed it for I really dislike camping greatly, but can say I liked hanging out on the beach! Dad said I'm most likely going to marry a lumberjack someday because of my 'camping dislikes'.

The water was extremely cold at this lake, so us girls stood on the edge playing frisbee with Dad who braved the cold. ^

Trying to enjoy the camping experience, this was my one way to relax and enjoy myself (other than the beach). I think I lay there for an hour swinging and listening to classical music. That, actually, was quite enjoyable!

And our computer takes a really long time to load pictures onto this thing and it's getting late, so that's all the pictures I'll post for now.
