| Done with Great Barrier ReefNow i know why they named this part of aus as sunshine state, woo the sun here is no joke man. i had my fair share of suntan in just one hr onboard the kangaroo explorer(live-on-board dive boat) did 6 dive at the reef and i think this place is over rated la but the sea water is here is damn clean and it's not as salty as malaysian seawater hhmmm... i wonder why. before this i was still thinking since we are there why not go for more dives, think karen made the right decision after all. the HK couple we met on the boat regretted booking 3d 2n. hope they get to see manta after we left. but all is no lost, we did have our consolation prize during the ferry trip back to Cairns. WE SAW 2 WHALES. cool! when the crew shouted "WHALE" everyone was like rushing to to the right side to get a good look at it, we were all excited about it. heng we got to see the whales if not i will be darn dissapointed with the dive trip sia. celebrated kevin's birthday yesterday.. haha it was not well coordinated but still we had fun la. gave him the birthday card in the water supposed to sing birthday song but din happen in the end. ya.. quite hard to coordinate these while underwater especially with 6 persons. will be goin tandem skydiving the afternoon. great day to skydive. GOOD DAY MATES! | | |

| too old? too young?Went T2 for a forum yesterday. met a couple of cohort mates, gald to know that thay are still around and coping well. one of them mentioned to me that i am the youngest guy in the cohort(i almost forgotten that). saw the group director(policy) in the forum. i met him once in my cc but didnt know he is a GD. he is in his early 30s while all the other GD are at least 40+, 50 yrs old la. went marina square after that, was too early for the dinner hence went for a latte. sitting all around me are either JC kidz or undergraduates with their texts, notes, ipods and notebooks. At that moment, traversing through the past and into the future, i ask myself what i have done so far and what can i do in the future. During the dinner, one of my fren "declared" that she has no goal in life. do i have one in the first place? Had a pleasant drinking session at weidi's place on tues. treated us a bottle of vodka, it has been donkey years since i last drank vodka. but this bottle is good stuff(can drink neat and dun have the disgusting after taste) but till prefer whiskey la. left his place at 3am and was late for my dental appt in the morning. mentioned to terry and weidi about cycling round island in taiwan plan. they are for the idea. but i doubt we are able to go in near future, terry is still looking for job so financially tight and weidi will be working in perth for long term. i know both of them luv taiwan but i guess it hard to arrange a taiwan trip together. btw terry juz came back from taiwan for his grad trip and he was in the filming of "i guess guess guess" nana... that episode is on "NTU(national taiwan uni)'s beauty"... nana . if you are going taiwan and interested to be the audience of the variety show you can call up the broadcast company and make enquires. | | |
| 4 years ago | First time i logged in to blog at my workstation. Was playing with the interface of xanga and looked back to the blog entry 4 yrs back. 26 aug 2004 ~interesting~ "before i go to sch for a full day of Lecture i better finish updating of my blog...feeling tired n aching all over the body coz i went CC wit yang and play a hr+ of squash.... super shagged!!! yang is as newbie as i am so i can at least beat him SOMETIMES.... the racket tat bro lent me is pretty heavy as compared to mine... the grip is as coarse as sandpaper, yang played until his hand got blisters *SADZ* we exchanged rackets at half time.... the reason why i am feeling tired now is becoz i slept at 2 am tis morning... y? i was doin my maths tutorial which is due today(last minute work) hazi again i better buck up and do my homework duly... better change man>>> if not i will suffer in the next sem... better get goin.... my mom is chasing mi to sch again.... seeya" _______________________________________________________________________________ Surprise surprise! PA actually hired consultant to improve our work process and ehance the marketing capability of CC. It was really a coincidence that i am still pluzzed and delighted about. Since 2 weeks back, my workload was very much lighten as compared to before, i have practically no major events to org or pressing task on hand. Hence i took time to review what i can do to improve the work process within my means. spoken to a few colleagues and grassroots.conclusion in general, CC needs revamp in order to stay relevant in today's social context. however, face the fact la. how much can one person change?! i focus into marketing as i think within the office this is something we can achieve and can see results in half a yr(i hope). did some brainstorming and discussing the topic with other people does help the idea to flow. one of the idea is to put up poster in the lift of HDB flats to publicise our major events(like what shopping malls are doin). there will be a staff meeting tml, i was thinking of bringing the specialisation of work to the adgenda. and today i was called upon to join the focus grp with the consultant( i was still sceptical abt this focus grp before i went for it). my boss has no idea i was doing what i was doing when she nominated me to join the focus grp. i think i am lucky this time round. doing work within the job scope and doing it outside the job scope is so different, when i was thinking about the marketing improvements on my own i was like thinking whether my boss and colleagues will support the ideas and thinking it is worth the effort( i could just slack and surf net and msning...etc). nevertheless, i hope the changes will be implemented soon and with the improvement in our marketing strategies hopefully there are more empowerment in all the stakeholders. changes are slow but... better than stagnant and become culturally obsolete.

| Hardship Diversshiok! went tioman for diving over the national day weekend. the accom is the same one i went to with army frens a couple of years back.. no wonder i find it so familiar initially. it was a bloody big grp total 39 but mostly was there to take courses and our own grp is onli like 5 of us. needs to rem names again. haiz we are assigned to a bloody slow boat and need to share with the advance open water learners. wasted most of time travelling in that boat. and took us alot of time to get ready the equiments as the boat itself is not really a dive boat and with so many of us. ai yo full of shit la.. wait to rush, rush to wait that kind of situation la. the 2 gals in the leisure divers grp starting "complaining" about the hardship we are goin through before every dive. haha and hence we branded oursleves the 'hardship divers'. actually not so jialat la but just that they are pampered divers mah. to live up the name of hardship divers the weather turned stormy for the last dive, it was so sudden but we still jumped in. on the surface the waves is so high that most of us drank a few mouthful of seawater. it was more like surfing than diving. but come to think about it. it was fun leh. it's not everyday one gets to dive in with big waves mah. after the dives i think quite a no of the learners became merlion, thx god the hardship divers are all okie. hope to see the fellow hardship divers in future dives. | | |
