19 weeks

For all who didn't know already... I'm PREGNANT!!!
Pregnancy is so strange! It's such a blessing to be entrusted with such an amazing responsibility and given such a gift.
Everything is going well... We're trying to decide on names and it's hard!

The picture below is from 18 weeks. We took one at 19, but for some reason I look smaller in the more recent photo, so we didn't post it. weird.

Here's some fun pictures of Maia. She's going to be missed.

Maia

Hello Friends & Family,

Nate and I thought it would be kind of us to give you an update on our new puppy Maia. We found out 3 weeks after we got her that she has a Bilateral Ectopic Ureter. This is a physical defect where the ureters that come from both kidneys don't connect to the bladder which makes it so Maia leaks urine constantly. After weeks of painful deliberation and desperation to find a reasonable solution, Nate and I finally decided that the only way to be fair to Maia is to put her down. We could opt for surgery, but there is only a 35-50% success rate on the surgery which would cost a few thousand dollars to perform.

Thank you to everyone who has been praying for us and Maia though the decision making process. It's been really tough. We love Maia and can't tell you how much of a blessing she has been in our lives for the short time she's been around. We've found out that we are definitely dog people. I'm sure we will get another Siberian Husky sooner or later.

We're putting Maia down Monday (9/24) at 4pm.

Thanks again to all of your support and prayers.

Love,

Shaloma & Nathan Allen

P.S. Please feel free to pass this on to anyone you think would be interested. Thank you.

Little discoveries that effect much

I've learned that the most valuble degree I could ever hold is a bachelors degree in my husband.
