I can't describe this feeling.
I haven't been this happy in a long time.

Back in August on our fasting day at church, we wrote letters to ourselves and had a date that we were supposed to receive them by. I completely forgot about it and I received it today. It was really interesting to see what I had written. Apparently I am doing a lot better than I was back in August and I'm loving it. I probably haven't felt this good in over a year...possibly 2 years.  This feeling came over me today that was just amazing...like something I've never felt before. Maybe it's because of this boy. You ought to meet him.

Partially inspired by John's sermon on Sunday.
"We have a closet full of clothes, but we can't find anything to wear."
"We have a pantry full of food, but we say there is absolutely nothing to eat; let's eat out tonight"

|We can't decide which shoe's would look best with our outfit.
We layer our clothes and wear multiple shirts.
We always say we need to stop eating so much.
We have drinks that are made to energize us.
We complain because our car isn't good enough for us.
We go shopping for fun when we don't even need anything.
We complain when our water is either too hot or too cold.
We have a computer for every person in the family.
We each have a cell phone and we would just die if we didn't have it.
We have shows that we have to watch every week or our lives will be over.
We complain whenever the A/C stops working in our house.
We have nothing to do when our internet goes down for a few hours.
We have arguments about where we are going to eat today.

The other day I wore 3 different pairs of shoes in one day. It got me thinking about how many things that we have and we don't even think much about them. How long do you think you could last without washing a single article of clothing without re-wearing it? How many pairs of shoes do you have in your closet? What are some of the things that you would hate to give up if you were told to do so? My computer, my digital camera, my car, my clothes. All material things. I'm sure there are plenty more. There isn't anything I would want to give up. But everything is so material and we are attached to it.

Think back of when you were younger when all the technology wasn't as advanced as it was now. When your parents didn't have cell phones, when pagers were the new thing to have, when you weren't on the internet all the time, when there weren't so many different types of game systems, when you actually played outside during the summer. I think kids today are so technicalized that they don't even know how to be kids. They play video games all day, they play on the computer, they listen to music that is degrading to our ears. How sad is it that they made a rap song out of a children's song. It's no longer "Do your ears hang low, do they wobble to and fro. Can you tie them in a knot, can you tie them in a bow? Can you throw them over your shoulder like a contenintal soldier? Do your ears hang low?" You know what I'm talking about, I'm sure. I hear 8 year olds singing that rap song. A 2 year old at my church knows the words to "Miss New Booty". What the heck? This isn't right.

I'm afraid of what our world is going to look like when I have kids. I don't like this world. We are degrading by every minute and we still continue to bring things that disturb our minds. What happened to the world?

What do you think life would be like if Adam and Eve had not sinned and eaten the fruit off the tree? What if man really did live the way God intended man to be? Christ wouldn't have had to come would he?

Any thoughts?

a couple thoughts...

They say that we are living longer these days. I don't think so. Maybe we are living longer than people did in the last hundred years...but what about the people back in in the Old Testament? They lived to be hundreds of years old. Why did they live way longer than we live today?

"Altogether, Lamech lived 777 years, and then he died." -- Genesis 5:31
...just read Genesis 5 and you can see how old all these men lived to be...

Also, it's always stated that "God spoke to ..." like they could hear Him or something. Or God would show up as different forms or his angels would appear. Why don't we see those sorts of things today? I wonder if there was a man like Jesus that lived today what the world would be like...how many new believers would there be?

"After forty years had passed, an angel appeared to Moses in the flames of a burning bush in the desert near Mount Sinai.  When he saw this, he was amazed at the sight. As he went over to look more closely, he heard the Lord's voice: 'I am the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, Issac and Jacob.' Moses trembled with fear and did not dare to look." -- Acts 7: 30-32

Lastly, I don't like when people put a face to Jesus. We don't really know what he looked like..and I can bet you a million dollars that he wasn't white. I just don't like to see a "picture" of Jesus when we don't really know. It's not like we worship that or anything, but it still bothers me.

Okay, yeah that's all.
