  • i saw mewithoutYou tonight. i am not sure if this was my sixth or seventh time seeing them. it is never a boring show and every time i go i think i fall in love with them a little more.
they played three new songs... i cannot wait until they release their new album.
    aaron wore a yarmulka.
he fed us pet ice cream which he found in a dumpster.
he sang "i have never smoked a cigarette in 29 years"
they came back on the stage for a two song encore which i they have never done before. (not sure if i liked that)
they took all of their shirts off.
    aaron played the keyboard.
    !!!

ps. did i mention we got lost in the ghetto? followed the a strange large man to the venue. he then stayed parked next to midnight for 5 minutes. i was freaking out about possible slashed tires. God is good. i am weak. it is so hot outside. columbia freaks me out. i was reminded of how much i enjoy concerts! oh, and gordan snagged me a set list, hooray!

  • "Until love is stirred, let God's love be enough for you.
There are season when God allows us to feel the frailty of human love
so we'll appreciate the strength of His love. Didn't he do this with David?
Saul turned on him. Michal, his wife, betrayed him. Jonathan and Samuel were David's friends,
but they couldn't follow him into the wilderness. Betrayal and circumstances left David alone.
Alone with God. And, as David discovered, God was enough. David wrote these words
in a desert: 'Because your love is better than life, my lips will glorify You...my soul will be satisfied
as with the richest of foods'(Psalm 63:3,5)".
    -Max Lucado

I am usually not a big fan of Lucado but I really enjoyed this devotion today. It spoke to me and was quite convicting.

  • we can't go to the zoo in this heat... so, we went to chuckie cheese's.

    praise God for the rain.

This verse was brought up at church tonight. There is hope for everyone, through the working of the Holy Spirit, alone!!
"...And the common people heard Him gladly" -Mark 12:37b
My pastor said something that rang with such truth tonight. If we compare ourselves to the culture we will always see ourselves as good. Yet, if we compare ourselves to Christ  or the Law, we fail miserably. Are we evaluating ourselves according to the proper standards?

  • "I used to also think that like to do good and to do right was the center of my faith. Like do all the good things and don't do the bad things. But, um, I've just screwed up that much that I have nothing left to trust in but God's mercy."

  • perhaps, next week we will go to the zoo...

    ignorance is bliss.

that statement is ringing more truth in it every day.

i am so thankful for spiritual mentors like Mrs. Speck.

How will we spend each day?

This life is too precious to let slip by...

  • I am going to the zoo tomorrow!!

    I wish I didn't think so much.

" Though you try to tell me that you never loved me
    I know that you did
Cause you said it and you wrote it down

    I can be alone
I can watch a sunset on my own

    Sitting in restaurants
Thought we were so grown up
But I know now that we were not the people that we turned out to be

Chatting on the phone can't take back those hours
But I won't regret cause you can grow flowers from where dirt used to be

    Dancing at discos
    Eating cheese on toast
Yeah you make me merry make me very very happy
But you obviously, you didn't want to stick around

    So I learnt from you"

I was disappointed with p.s. i love you.

"Truly, these times of ignorance God overlooked, but now commands all men everywhere to repent, because He has appointed a day on which He will judge the world in righteousness by the Man whom He has ordained. He has given assurance of this to all by raising Him from the dead." Acts 17:30-31
"Therefore, since we are the offspring of God, we ought not to think that the Divine Nature is like gold or silver or stone, something shaped by art and man's devising" Acts 17:29

It was a trip of a lifetime... I learned more than I could ever express.

  • Have you ever just wanted to pass by someone driving or walking to see if they would acknowledge your presence or smile at you?
These are the things I think about. How pathetic.

There is a hurting world out there.
I watched the world news tonight (a rarity) at my babysitting job...since they have cable.
I have a burden for the world.
    God can do great things.

I leave for Greece in less than 12 hours.

    !!!
