| Wow. Well, I'm home right now, enjoying sun-filled days in the beautiful state of North Carolina, in this delightful place we call the south. Where gentlemanly manners, polite smiles and nods, delicious foods, sweet people, and southern charm dwell. I can't tell you how much I enjoy the South, and I can't tell you how much living up north for a few months has proven how much better it is down here... *smiles* However, the north has it's quaint charms as well. My school is nestled in the middle of a small town called Grove City. This town consists of one street, mainly, and then suburbs. Among some of the cute little stores is a movie theater, with one theater- $5 a movie. A tanning place, a coffee shop, subway, and few other little gift shops and dry cleaners etc, and the best of all- Sun Gins, the Chinese restaurant. Let me tell you, we have spent many hours in that place, or holding the take out boxes in our dorm rooms... This town is so small and innocent, there's a Wal Mart on the main road and this year they opened it up 24 hours. it made it onto the front page of the newspaper- "WalMart now open 24 hours!!"- indeed, it was the news of the month. Oh, there's a Salvation Army (Salvo) and I must say, I shop there way more than the outlets. Which brings me to the last of our attractions, the outlets... it's pretty much THE attraction around. If you ever come visit, bring money because you will want it. Now, all of that sounds a small bit interesting.. yes, but it gets old the first week of school. So we are forced to make our own fun. Like, we acted out the Notebook at 3 o clock in the morning, three of us girls laid down in the middle of the road and watched the lights change. It was so fun, we laughed and giggled. Or, a day that we went out at like 2 o clock in the morning and bolted to the playground at the middle-school to swing and race each other on the monkey bars. Or midnight popcorn fights, or nine of us guys and girls spending the night in the rec center watching Two Towers. Or huge snow ball wars....*sighs* I love college. Even with the love that I have for my school, I have to say being home has been wonderful. It's been so wonderful to see all my friends from high-school, hanging out, drinking good coffee, playing with my little sister, not doing homework, just soaking in family time. I love it here. I just realized what time it is and I need to go to work. I will finish this post at a later point. I love you all so very much. Abigail. |
