At what age do you think a kid should be able to start dating?

It depends on the maturity level of the child. Thouugh for girls I'd probably say not till 14 at the earliest no matter her maturity level. and for boy's I don't know, I'd have to ask my hubby cause he's have a better idea than I would. I don't think it's a good idea for kids to start dating at the peek of their homone level ya know? that gets every one into trouble. plus you need some life experience and learn how to be selfless in a relationship. that could come at any age. and sometimes never! I wouldnt let my children date, until I saw that they could controll their emotions and controll their bodies. before that it's too early because then they get caught up in their emotions and desires without using their brain to think the situation out first! there is no set age!

I just answered this Featured Question, you can answer it too!

Never. haha -- we are promoting Cating, and Dourtship... ; P

No actually now I am thinking the best idea is to allow each child to be individual, and not to expect your theories on how it will work to influence what goes on. (does that make sense?)
I also believe that the guy should work his way through the daughter and the parents at the same time (so it would be helpful if your child lived at home and went to the same places as you, and had the same friends, etc. or as soon as they meet someone to have them meet you as well... which happens when you are really close with your parents).

*Just my thoughts at the moment*

I really have enjoyed getting my Mothers input recently. (and my sisters as well)

I guess what I am wondering is what do you mean when you use the word "dating".... is it like friendship, or going out with someone, or is it being boyfriend-girlfriend, can it be simply and complexy defined?

Yeah.. haha, a little confused here, I need to go to church, but I was thinking about you for some reason this morning, so yes, I took advantage of your site.
