    Moving Time

Well all I caved finally.  After a few days of poking around I finally fully fledged out my livejournal (or at least started it).  If any of you wonderful readers are on that site or are interested in following my adventures further, I enlisted to their ranks under the name of "eccentricfurry".  Figured it was only fitting given my attitudes and what not.

I'll keep checking up on all of you when I can--and maybe will post here from time to time still--but main body of stuff will be over on LJ.

So here's your chance everyone!  If you want me to call you, gimmie your number!  grey_fox_fanatic@yahoo.com is my email if you don't want to post it on here...

I'm also on Facebook and FurAffinity (SilverVixen).

  • So I just had an experience with a car full of...well they can only be called overgrown children.  I went to a concert as part of my Music Lab class.  I walked there, seeing both as I have no car and I also enjoy walks, especially on sunny, cool fall days like this before it gets really cold.

I was wearing my KoRn "i have issues" T-shirt and my red and black goth pants.  Typical fare for me.  I'm by no means a "goth"--as those who have met me will know.  But I enjoy the color black, and I like the style Tripp clothing makes.

Anyway, on my way home, I crossed the street by the Goodnow dorms, and heard a bunch of yelling and honking from a car a couple feet down the road.  I stopped after crossing to see what they were making such a ruckus about--if it was a loser buddy of theirs, a "hot girl" or just idiots being noisy.

Turns out it was me that had attracted their close-minded fascination.  And, in typical frat-boy, stay-in-the-box-like-all-your-friends thought fashion, they were honking and teasing at me.  As if to get a rise at me.  And in my typical "Fuck-you" fashion of not reacting to idiots like this, I stood and stared at them.

Silent, unmoving--just standing and looking at them like the were (and They WERE) all spazzing, epileptic retards (no offense to anyone who doesn't like the terms).

One asked if my outfit "was a costume"--which made me chuckle.  And one yelled out "Fuck You" in my direction, which confused me a bit--seeing as I hadn't said or done anything.  Maybe he was just jealous cause he really wanted a hot goth chick and knew his buddies wouldn't let him live it down if he did.   Or maybe they all wanted to get out of those frat-boy threads and wear something that made everyone look at them with less disgust and more intrigue--maybe those sideways hats were finally cutting off enough blood to their brains that their bodies were looking for any new fashion that didn't require them to wear such idiotic looks.  I don't really know.

As they drove off still yelling, another girl walking by said she was surprised I didn't go over and kick their ass for that.  I just calmly explained it wouldn't do anything to react like that, it would only encourage them on.  She did say she liked my pants though ^_^  That made me extra happy.

All I could think through the whole strange scene was that I hadn't seen maturity like that in men since...oh...Freshman year of High school?  That sounds about right.

  • No....Siriusly...

We have Sirius!  Alex is working on seeing if we can get a good signal in the house.  If so, we'll have satellite radio now!  Cool ^_^  They even have entire stations just for Sinatra, Opera, Chamber and classical music, and four or five for electronica and dance genres.

Apparently it does work--a couple minutes after starting he said it has signal--so hopefully we'll have Sirius in the house with relative ease soon :)

Well I had a small work-related scare tonight.

First you must all know (for those of you who aren't informed of this already)--I work a half-shift on Monday nights, and fill in the missing four hours over the rest of the week (one hour extra each day).  Not too bad a deal.

So anyway, this being Monday, I was only there for 4 hours (starting at 7 PM leaving at 11)

I get there only to find out, no, I'm not spending 4 hours helping clean Cardwell--oh no.  I'm going to Stonehouse and doing that!

For anyone who hasn't followed my posts for any amount of time, Stonehouse takes 4 hours base minimum...and that's if you cut corners and only do the sheer basics.  Even then, you're running around like a cracked-up, strung-out, beheaded chicken trying to get everything done in that amount of time.

Well--after organizing my cart (since my darling coworker deemed it fit to ravage, ransack, and pretty much decimate my orderly cart)--which took 15 minutes--It was now 7:30.  I had to be done basically at 10:30 in order to get everything put away on time for my ride to get there.

Thankfully, in the middle of my race against the clock, my supervisor and another co-worker from Cardwell showed up to help me clean.  True, they scared the crap out of me by popping in without radioing to let me know they were there, but they were there to help, so no hard feelings.  Funny thing is, one of them can't use their left arm, and the other can't use their right arm.  So neither of them can really sweep or mop.  All I had left behind me was vacuuming and mopping.

Somehow everything got done, but good GOD it was a madhouse out there.  I think we got that building done in record time.

  • Work and stuff

Sorry I haven't been updating lately.  Work has been sapping my desire to do much of anything

But tonight I'm home resting--my right ankle was hurting this morning, and after having to literally hobble home after class, I decided to take a Friday off and rest it for an extra night.  So hopefully most of the rest of the crew shows up--because their bouncy-ball co-worker won't be there to rush and cover their asses when they call in sick like they do every payday.... >.>  *Ahem* Back to what I was saying...sorry for that snarky little rant--okay, I'm not at all.

I've been working in Cardwell (the Math and Physics building) lately for a bit of efficiency help/retraining.  My original trainer was horrible--so I'm REALLY behind on some things.  A lot of things in my job I've had to pick up and figure out on my own.  My boss admitted I had done a great job picking all this up--and this retraining is really just showing me how to more efficiently clean a large area of square footage.  She said my effort or speed wasn't the issue--just my manner in doing things.

Anyway, I've been getting run pretty ragged the past couple weeks cause of this--last week my knees and shins hurt so bad it actually kept me up, a few nights ago my wrist started hurting during the night and took forever to stop hurting (after waking me up multiple times), and today I woke up unable to put hardly any weight on my right ankle.

    So yea...funfun.

I'm taking the night off and sitting my duff on the couch for 9 extra hours I don't normally get.  Either I'll be horridly bored, or I'll have a nice, relaxing 3-day weekend.

  • Nope--not dead...this is just the ubiquitous post to prove I'm still alive.

I donated blood the other day for the first time.  It went really well.  I only had one dizzy spell after donating--about an hour afterward.  But this really sweet lady helped me out.  She wet down a rag for my forehead while I rested with my feet lifted...and then went and got me a Gatorade to help me feel better.

After that I was fine--but MAN I ate a huge lunch.  I was just ravenous...I don't know if it was the donation or the day in general.

So now--I have just a faint bruise left on my arm...it's fading surprisingly quickly knowing how easily I bruise.

    But yea...still alive ^_^

  • Do you think the media puts too much focus on physical beauty?

Yes--definitely yes.  Just look at any sitcom--nine times out of ten, the lead character is a person the epitome of physical beauty (as defined by culture)

Certain exceptions might be "Ugly Betty", Dove Commercials, and a few others I can't think of at this moment.

I just answered this Featured Question, you can answer it too!

Now onto my original post--My boss pissed me off tonight--bad.

Thankfully we got it worked out.  Basically I got griped at again for missing a small thing or two, but she admitted it was undoubtedly because I had a really shitty trainer.  So I'm gonna get pulled into Cardwell for a while for some help learning how to do large areas of square footage with efficient, thorough cleaning practices, then they'll put me back out in Stone House.

If only she'd said that this nice way instead of the way she originally did.  But at least she told me (of her own accord!) that she could tell I busted my ass and worked really hard on keeping that place nice.  Essentially all this training is for--really--is to hone those acquired skills and abilities into a more efficient manner.

  • Camping Pictures

I'll give this a shot--I've never been able to get these formatted the way I want. But oh well.

A pretty dragonfly I saw on a rock walking from the Dining Hall to the Cabin.

Me in some borrowed camo gear the night I went out coyote calling with some other campers.  Aren't I a cute ninja?

This was in a class called Wild Women.  It was all about making camping better for the women.  Stuff about how to pick a good tent, how to find a good sleeping bag, low-impact camping, etc.  The three lumps above are some of the other class-attendees in mummy bags.  The one on the right showed us why you always lie down to zip into a mummy bag.

A ridge at one of the stops on the coyote-calling trip. This was one of the last ones, since it was getting so dark.  But still a cool shot of the storm in the distance. This was taken from White City area.

More Prairie life from the White City area.  Can you tell it was really windy that night?

Sorry if this one is blurry--it was the best shot I had of it.  Just some old, neat-looking wagon I saw while on the coyote calling trip.

Anyway--there's some of the sights and experiences I got to have.  Enjoy!
