  • Lack of posting!

    Hey girls!  I'm so sorry I haven't posted anything.
    My schedule has been packed full.  I've picked up over ten new clients and with prom right around the corner and test styles going on, it's been crazy at the salon!  I get up at 6am and I'm in home at midnight.  Things are quieting down a bit so...THERE WILL BE A NEW POST TONIGHT!  And another on Monday *crosses fingers*  Sorry ya'll had to wait so long!

  • Amazing!

    This isn't a real update.  I just wanted to post a little note to tell all subscribers that you are amazing.  I've read posts throughout the day and you are all FABULOUS!  Thank you for being a part of this!

    The only thing I ask is feedback.  I'd really like to know what ya'll want.  What are ya'lls questions?  What are your concerns?  What are your triggers?

    Also...next publication will be Wednesday night!  I'd really like to get something up sooner but I'm going to be so busy tomorrow and Tuesday that I'll hardly have time to work out.

    TIPS OF THE DAY:
    --While drinking a lot of cold water at once will "fill you up" and kickstart your metabolism, if you just want a real quick fix to your hunger pangs, drink a lukewarm glass of water.  You'll feel full off only half a glass plus the warm water shocks the enzymes in your stomach and intestines and helps regulate your system.
    --Wanting to binge or cheat?  Thing of the food that you want the most and kill it with your mind.  Think about insects and rodents and maggots and germs all over it...your appetite is sure to disappear.  If it doesn't.  Go get that food.  Pour detergent, dishwashing liquid, shampoo, soap, anything on it so that you can't eat it. 
    --Smells can decrease your appetite.  Take your favorite perfume and spray it on a tissue that you keep with you.  When you're hungry, breathe in the smell of that tissue deeply, see if it doesn't work.
    --While caffeine can be an appetite suppressant and can increase your metabolism, it will also act as a diuretic. Drink a glass of water for each cup of tea, coffee, or diet soda you have. Again, dehydration is a potentially serious problem

    HEALTH : PURGING
    When you're purging, the pressure in your head is intense.  If there is too much pressure you can burst blood vessels in your eyes which is usually signaled by a sharp pain right above your eye or right behind your brow bone.  This is called a subconjunctival hemorrhage.  It is not fatal but it could affect your vision over a long period of time.
    Your esophagus is already a very small hole.  When you purge you're forcing large amounts of food through that tiny hole.  If you purge a lot your esophagus could be swollen or damaged causing the hole to be smaller.  If too much pressure is withstood your esophagus could actually rip apart from your stomach or rupture from the inside, possibly being fatal.
    When you purge, you are emptying food from the begining of the digestive tract where electrolytes are processed.  Your heart needs these to function.  If you don't have enough of these, you will have a heart attack.
    Your teeth get damaged when purging as well.  Rinsing with water or water and baking soda after purging neutralizes the acid that wears the enamel off your teeth.  DO NOT BRUSH YOUR TEETH AFTER PURGING.  The act of brushing your teeth removes the acid as well as the tooth enamel that is weak from the acid it was already exposed to!

    TIP OF THE DAY:
    It takes roughly TWELVE hours for your body to start feeding on itself, i.e. FAT.  It take 48 hours or TWO DAYS for your metabolism to kick in and for your body to start perserving your fat.  So, it's best to eat a little something every two days in order to keep your metabolism up.

    RECIPE OF THE DAY:
    Slim Moo Shake
    1 cup of ice cold skimmed milk

    2-3 packets of Splenda or Equal if extra sweetness is desired

    1 teaspoon of your favorite extract (vanilla, strawberry, chocolate, lemon, rum, maple, etc.)

    Pour skimmed milk, sweetener and extract into a blender. Whirl until thick and frothy - about 5 seconds.
    Cals, fat, sat fat, carbs and sodium:  Check your milk carton.

    HEALTH:FASTING AND PROBLEMS THAT ARISE.
    It is common during fasting for your body to create a fine mucus in your nose and throat.  This is a result of toxins being flushed out of your body.  To help get rid of it, drink a small amount of lemon juice with your water three times daily.  It breaks the mucus up and helps you either spit it up or digest it.  It is also common to experience dizziness...if you do so, medical doctors say to get down on one knee and it will stop immediately.  Back pains could arise due to toxins in the lower intestines.  To get rid of this do mild back exercises and use a cold back.  This discomfort should subside after a few days. 

    ROAD TO RECOVERY:
    Something-Fishy  is a great place to start for online support if you're making the decision to recover or if you know that you need help.  Please take advantage of it.

    Hello everyone!  This is the ED Support Center's first publication!  It is a work in progress, this is certainly not a finish product in publications to come!  We need your feedback and comments to let us know how we can BETTER SERVE YOU!

    RECIPE OF THE DAY:

    Creamy Cheese and Spinach Quesadillas

    4 ounces cream cheese, fat-free
    1 green onion, finely chopped
    1/8 teaspoon garlic powder
    4 small flour tortillas, preferably whole wheat
    1 cups fresh spinach leaves
    1/2 cup chopped red bell pepper or use jarred roasted red bell peppers
    1/2 cup crumbled feta cheese

    Combine cream cheese, green onions, and garlic powder.
    Spread each tortilla with about 2 tablespoons of the cream cheese mixture. Top each with 2 tablespoons of chopped red pepper and 2 tablespoons of feta cheese. top with 1/4 cup of spinach leaves. Fold each tortilla in half.
    Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Place two folded tortillas in the skillet and heat for a minute or two on each side or until hot and golden brown. Place on a platter and cover to keep warm while you cook the other two quesadillas.
    Cut each quesadilla in half to serve. Makes 4 servings
    Per serving:
    Calories - 90
    Total fat -  2
    Sat fat - 2
    Protien - 4
    Fiber - 1
    Sodium - 230
    Carbs - 10
    WW Pts - 2

    HEALTH : VITAMINS
    If you have an eating disorder your body is being starved of the things that it so desperatly needs.  If you're going to fast and cut calories at least keep your body healthy.  The most important things you need are B Vitamins, Omega-3's, Iron and Zinc.  These help in keeping your cell production up.  Keeping your bones, eyes, teeth, and hair healthy as well as stabilize your mental health and reduce stress.  It'll keep your heart healthy.  No matter whether you're anorexic or bulimic you still need electrolytes as well.  Drink a non carbonated beverage that has plenty of electrolytes.  THESE REGULATE YOUR SYSTEM.  You could go into cardiac arrest without them.  BE THIN, girls, NOT DEAD

    TIP OF THE DAY:
    Find a low calorie food with plenty of fiber and protien.  These two things keep you feeling fuller longer, plus we all know that fiber aids in weightloss and protien has Vitamin D which keeps your teeth, hair, and nails looking great.
