It has been a whole year and I've decided to post again.  This time I am posting to announce a new blog.  Like many other Xanga users I have decided to become a blogspot user.  Here is my new blog:

Found some quotes from Jim Elliot today...

He is no fool who gives what he cannot keep to gain that which he cannot lose.

Wherever you are, be all there.  Live to the hilt every situation you believe to be the will of God.

Hope these encourage you all (whoever still reads my Xanga) as much as they encouraged me.

Here is a link to pictures of children waiting to be adopted in Oregon, Washington, Idaho, and Alaska.

Why should these children be waiting children for another day?

Little children can teach interesting lessons.  My brother Austin, 21 months, is terrified of bees.  He runs and screams when he sees them.  Sometimes he will see a tiny leaf or a speck of dirt and he thinks it is a bee.  Because of this, he is often terrified of something that is harmless.  He doesn't exactly know what a bee looks like and he thinks that we are afraid of bees too.

We are often that way with God.  We know that there ae bad and scary things that we should be afraid of, but we don't quite know what they look like.  We are often scared of things that can't hurt us.  We don't trust that God knows what can hurt us and that he will protect us.  God says to us, "Trust Me.  I will take care of you.  Don't be afriad."  We say those same things to Austin.

Everyday is another oppoutunity to trust God.  We can't always protect Austin from things that will hurt him.  God can always protect.  Whether we are living or dying, suffering or not, God is always protecting.

Psalm 20:7 - Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the Lord our God.

My mom and I picked blackberries yesterday and I have scratches all over my arms.  I am sure that blackberry jam during the winter will be worth it.

I am reading several books right now...Gold Cord by Amy Carmichael, An Historical Survey of the Old Testament by ? (the book is upstairs right now), and The Pursuit of God by A.W. Tozer.  They are all very good.

"His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness.  Through these he has given us his very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature and escape the corruption in the world caused by evil desires."  2 Peter 1:3-4
